For Sale: 1966 Ford Mustang in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

This 1966 Ford Mustang fastback is a true vintage machine that highlights what you love about the first-gen pony car while also upgrading you with plenty of GT style, added V8 power, and an A/C interior.

The Dark Green Metallic keeps this coupe distinctive, and the trim tag tells us it's the factory-correct color. It was given a respray later in life so the deep green retains a glossy finish. Having a Mustang in a darker color not only looks stylish, but it also allows the brightwork to stand out nicely. The quality shine of the form-hugging chrome bumpers, fender vent trim, window trim, and galloping pony grille all are quite noticeable. While you'll like the quality in the fundamentals, what you'll really love is how it has been comprehensively upgraded to a GT. It includes the fog lights in the grille, proper GT badging (including the gas cap,) the dual exhaust mounted through the rear valance, and the triple rocker stripe that contrasts the green in a similarly attractive way as the brightwork. There's even a hood scoop for a GT350 level of flair. And the styled steel wheels do a great job of adding both shine and a sporty style to this already desirable fastback.

The fresh look of a big investment continues inside. It starts with the factory-correct black interior. A color that complements the exterior dark green to give you a great look inside and out. You can really see and feel the quality in the door panels, carpeting, dash, headliner, and all the other fundamentals. You get all the best in classic Mustang features like the thin/grippy three-spoke sports steering wheel, a center console, and a fold-down rear seat. And because a GT tribute is a driver's car, you'll love spotting the Rally-Pac which houses a clock and tach. Being ready for the road is also about staying comfortable. So the correct-style air conditioning is running on modern R134a (may need a recharge.) And the radio is now an AM/FM/CD stereo for the best in driving music.

V8 Mustangs are always in style, so it's great to see a correct and tidy presentation in this 289ci C-code coupe. The Monte Carlo Bar adds bracing and some more Shelby-like style. It also kicks off an upgraded polished package that includes the shock tower bracing, alternator, compressor cover, Ford Racing valve covers, and more.
Because this has plenty of GT style, they also decided to give it a GT level of power. That means inhaling deeper with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock Performer intake. The motor fires up eagerly, and upgrades like the new distributor and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan help keep it running strong. And to be a good all-around drive, this has features for easy anytime enjoyment like a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and wide BF Goodrich T/As.

This is the GT tribute with a terrific style and plenty of substance. So when you want a head-turning fastback, it's time to pony up to this pony car. Call now!
