For Sale: 1967 Ford Mustang in Anaheim, California

Vehicle Description

1967 Ford Mustang GT 390 convertible 4 speed

The Ford Mustang remains as popular today as it was when it was unveiled to the public on April 17 1964 when people stormed their local Ford dealers to have a first look at the new pony. In the first three years, the most powerful engine choice was the 289 small block with either a four barrel A code for 225 horsepower, or the rare K code for 271 hp.
For 1967, the most powerful selection now became the 390 big block, the first year Ford squeezed a mighty FE motor into a pony car. For utmost performance, you would then pair that up with a four speed transmission and a 3.25 Equa-Loc rear axle.

This is for 1967 the best of the best: Convertible, GT package, 390 engine, 4 speed, Raven Black with Red Decor interior, one of only ten made like this, and with AM FM 8 track, one of one, shown in the Marti Report. This Mustang also has power steering, power disc brakes, power top, tachometer, Styled Steel wheels and console.
Born in San Jose California and delivered to Midway Ford in Los Angeles, this vehicle has only seen a dry climate.

We have performed a concours nut and bolt restoration on this absolutely rust free example over the last 14 years. Everything has been restored to new condition and this Mustang only has 4 test miles around the shop area. It runs perfect, everything works like when new. The car is of museum quality.

In 2007 this original, good running, all together car was completely disassembled, catalogued and sorted, then mounted in a rotisserie and walnut shell blasted. There was no rust repair needed on this body and since it had no accidents, all sheet metal is original to the car. New old stock Ford parts, or the car’s original parts have been used almost exclusively thru the course of the restoration. Pictures are available of every step of the rebuild. The original door tag has been safely stored while a new one is mounted on the door. All factory and dealer prep decals and tags are mounted to replicate how it looked when a customer picked it up from the local Ford dealer in 1967.

Utmost care was taken by our shop to keep the integrity of the car, maintain all factory pinch welds, small factory imperfections, chalk marks and paint daubs. All parts are date correct with matching number motor, transmission, rear axle etc. Factory date markings were etched into the new glass. Any item with a date code is correct.
Months were spent gapping the whole body to a perfect fit. You would be hard pressed to find another Mustang with this fit and finish. This was followed by prepping and sanding before the perfect black top coat, color sanded and polished to an incredible shine. You can literally read the paper in the reflection of this paint!
The Mustang GT was scheduled for judging in the MCA Trailered Concours class twice last year with both shows canceled due to Covid. It is certain to achieve MCA Gold Standard class, with letters from judges stating this opinion, without an official certification. The car is registered again to be judged in the fall of 2021.

As a collector there are certain things you look for when buying a classic car:

Popularity:
The Mustang has always been and will continue to be popular. Everybody can relate to a Mustang and many of us have memories with them.

Rarity:
Most buyers opted for the six cylinder or 289. The 390 was rare, and with a four speed, and GT, and convertible, Raven Black paint, Red Decor interior and AMFM 8 track, this car is one of one only.

Restoration:
Nothing was left undone in this 14 year restoration. The quality of workmanship was equal to or higher than many top restorations of more expensive cars such as Shelbys and BOSS 429:s. The car has been trailered to a Mustang show only once and took 3 trophies including Best In Show.

Market:
Mustangs have skyrocketed the last couple of years and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. Big Block manual shift cars are the most sought after.

Beauty:
Nothing matters if you don’t like to look at the car. This has been called “the most beautiful car I have ever seen” by many, regardless of make and model. The color of the outside and interior of this car is the best combination with black and red. You can walk around and admire the shine of this perfect black paint. It is ready for somebody’s collection in a protected environment or even living room!

This is the best of its kind in the world and the price reflects that. Price on request for serious parties. Please email for more detailed info about the restoration, more pictures of the car, restoration, or videos. Feel free to send any Mustang inspector on your behalf if you live far away. The car is in Southern California. Thank you for your consideration.
