Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1976 Factory 400 Formula which is in great overall condition and priced to sell. The original Pontiac 400 engine remains in the car and the vin on the engine block is numbers matching. The previous owner bought this Formula from a dealership in 1978 and kept the car until 5/2021, over 43 years owned. He has kept the car garaged since 1982. This special Formula features a nice repaint in factory Polaris Blue with replacement decals, a mostly original stock black vinyl interior, the original Pontiac 400 engine, and low actual miles. This Formula is solid with great lines and gaps. The underside is solid as well. This Formula is finished in the desirable color combinations of Polaris Blue over Black vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above.
Exterior
The Polaris Blue exterior is in nice restored condition. This Formula was treated to a repaint years ago in factory Polaris Blue with replacement decals. The paint is in great condition and both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking or faded paint. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires have great tread left and are correctly sized 225/70/15. The 15" aftermarket Western Cyclone wheels are in excellent condition with no curb rash and are color matched to the body color. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original style trunk mat, spare tire, and jack. The underside of this Formula is solid and is nicely undercoated.
Interior
The Black vinyl interior of this Formula is in terrific mostly original condition. The front seat covers are in new condition and were just replaced. The rear seats are original and in excellent shape and rarely used. The original carpet is in decent shape but there is wear on the front drivers section in the drivers foot well area. The dash is in great overall condition and the dash bezel is correct and looks beautiful in the car. The Sanyo stereo works well and sounds good and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The original door panels are in excellent condition and both new door pulls are solid and in tact. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should. The horn, all gauges, stereo, wipers, and blower motor all work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Formula is in great mechanical condition and the original Pontiac 400 engine is still in the car with matching vin number, see photo. This engine runs very well and car performs nicely. An original style exhaust remains under the Formula and the muffler and exit pipe was replaced and the original cat is still in place. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it does not run hot, it rides tight, and is always a joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Formula is a nice driver that feels good on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. In 1985 a new cam was added with a new intake and Holley Carb. A shift kit was added to the automatic transmission.
