For Sale: 1940 Dodge D150 in Lithia Springs, Georgia
There is so much to see on this 1940 Dodge D150 Rat Rod. It has the
real patina look that shows off a former fire truck body. It's also
a proper V8 HD truck. Plus, you'll love all the custom touches from
the extended truck bed to the dual smoke stacks. And despite the
rough-and-ready appearance on the outside, the interior looks quite
comfy.
This has a truly awesome level of patina. Everything is believed to
be authentic and aged-in, right down to the Kossuth Fired
Department graphic on the hood. There are also fun details, like
the handprints, custom running boards, and the exposed welds that
make up the custom truck bed. More than just look beefy, this is an
HD truck with 8-lug wheels. And there's even a proper trailer hitch
on the back. Rat rods are all about giving you some extra flair to
go with your aged-in patina. But when that's also on an HD truck,
these pieces have a touch of functionality. That's why you have the
pusher bar and the polls that show you the bumper's edge. And there
are even some cool classic touches, like the crosshair grille and
ram hood ornament looking bright. But of course, the truest rat rod
boldness comes from those tall exhaust stacks.
The interior is less about being a rat rod and more about being a
comfortable place to be. You have late-model bucket seats
w/headrests, Dynamat insulation, finished door panels, a tilt
steering column, and a dash full of the upgraded gauges, including
a tach. So it's nothing too fancy to keep you from feeling like
you're in a classic big rig, but this cab is also far from a
penalty box.
Under the butterfly hood is a V8 upgrade. The 305 cubic-inch motor
has the proper patina style you want in a truck like this. Plus, it
has that right touch of rat rod flair with the screen air grabber.
There's also extra pep from the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor
and Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. It makes for a nice upgrade
over the old Dodge straight-six (but we also bet you're thinking
about some diesel upgrades to really roll coal.) And what we also
like is that the fundamentals are all in place. You have a strong
welded chassis, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a
stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission.
Real patina and real ability come together in quite a unique
package. So don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind. Call today!!!
