Vehicle Description
The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette coupe is the car of dreams. It is the
one to truly earn its Sting Ray name as a genuine one-year only,
split-window car. So when one of these rare classics with perpetual
desirability is available, you need to act fast.
They weren't sneaking around when they painted this one Riverside
Red, but when you're driving one of the most fantastic shapes of
all time, why not draw a crowd? In reality, a Corvette in a correct
shade of red always makes us happy because that's the iconic color,
and this Sting Ray is one of the most iconic shapes in the
Corvette's nearly 70-year history. The restoration may have changed
this coupe to a slick red, but they also made sure to keep a
careful eye on making sure such a significant coupe still appeared
stock. It has all the right details, like the chrome vents in the
hood, ribbed rocker panels, and an overall quality fit to the body
panels. Plus, the bumpers appear brand new and shine like mirrors.
But of course, what makes these forever valuable is the genuine
split rear window that only lasted one year before function took
over for this stylish touch.
The '63 Corvette interior was every bit a style revolution as the
bodywork was, and so it's great to have it in a red just as bold as
the exterior. Plush carpeting, a smooth dash, clean bucket seats,
and an excellent headliner really give this a quality feel. A full
array of gauges keeps a comprehensive eye on the engine, and their
bright stainless faces and slender needles are miniature works of
art. The four-speed Hurst shifter falls easily to hand, just inches
away from the three-spoke sports steering wheel. The center stack
running in-between the twin cowls of the dash has a slender design,
so it's nice to see the correct-style Delco AM/FM radio still
cranking out the tunes. And Corvette fans will notice that this has
air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) It's
believed to be a factory feature, which would make this one of only
278 - one of the rarest features of this special year!
Under the hood is a very stock and correct presentation of an
era-correct block. And while you'll admire the tidiness of the full
engine bay, right down to the belt and hoses, it also shows the
right signs of proper maintenance. So the 327 cubic-inch V8 fires
up eagerly and runs strong. You get to make the most out of it all
thanks to the control of the four-speed manual transmission. The
car's level of care and restoration is also seen in the
undercarriage photos. It has the clean look of a car that you can
confidently take on the road. So it's perfect for both enjoying at
shows and enjoying the drive home. After all, the '63 Corvette
coupe not only has the distinctive split window, but it was also
the first one to have a fully independent sports suspension.
This is one of the most sought-after coupes of all time, and this
one has the shine and rarity to be a true star. So if you're ready
to join the upper class of Corvette society, give us a call
today!
