The Lincoln Cosmopolitan was the top-of-the-line model of the
post-war Lincolns and featured new "pontoon" styling for 1949. This
Cosmopolitan Sport Sedan is finished in black over a red interior
and powered by a 337ci 240hp Flathead V8 topped with an aluminum
high-rise intake manifold and dual carburetors. The engine also
features custom cylinder heads and exhales through a dual exhaust.
Power is routed to a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive,
and the Cosmopolitan is equipped with air conditioning, power
windows, chrome wire wheels wrapped with wide whitewall tires and
suicide doors. Other features include front and rear bumper guards
and factory frenched headlights.
