Vehicle Description
You're looking at a real-deal code-44 1969 Oldsmobile 442 with
four-on-the-floor done in an awesome and correct color combo. And
the motor is not only an enhanced and fortified version of the
correct big V8, but it has all your favorite W-30 pieces, too.
The Oldsmobile 442 was on a dual mission to provide performance and
luxury, and this coupe seems to do it best. It was restored about
halfway through life, and it has been with one owner for the great
majority of the time after that. So you have a quality look of
well-respected care. The factory-correct Palomino Gold continues to
shine like true precious metal every time the sunlight finds this
Olds. And the black vinyl roof has a taut look of quality. On the
aggressive side of this 442, the dual black sports stripes, W-30
badging, and redline tires really let you know this car is a
contender. But above all, you want this Olds because of its style.
They did amazing things in '69, like the trim line that starts at
the headlights and highlights all the great curves of the Holiday
Hardtop's sheet metal. We know you love the way the trunk,
taillights, and rear bumper are all part of one interwoven
design.
The gold interior has a nice harmony against the exterior paint.
Plus, it looks quite nice on the headliner, dash, and more. And the
seats are especially well-done in the correct classic Olds pattern.
So you'll happily leave all the windows down on this pillarless
hardtop so everyone can get a good view inside. And if they are
lovers of vintage style, they will be impressed right down to
details like the walnut wood-like trim and the AM/FM stereo with
working separate 8-track. This 442 is a true driver's machine, and
so that means bucket seats up front, a center console, power
steering, and a Hurst shifter. The gauges are the special Rally
Pack gauges with the working tic-toc-tach.
The consignor believes this is an original W-30 package car, and so
it's great to pop the hood and immediately spot the correct-style
lightweight red plastic inner fenders. This even has the air intake
that gets cool oxygen delivered from under the front bumpers. At
the heart of this is the copper-colored presentation of the Olds
Rocket V8. This is an era-correct block that has been enhanced and
fortified for performance. It includes being bored .30 over, a
balanced rotating assembly, forged pistons, correct W-30 heads, and
a correct Rochester four-barrel carburetor. You get complete
control of this mighty V8 and its rumbling soundtrack thanks to the
Muncie M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission. This feeds a
limited-slip rear end. The undercarriage has a nice and clean look,
and you'll also spot the correct rear suspension with boxed
trailing arms and a rear sway bar.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and maintenance records
documenting decades of care and investment. A total package like
this never stays idle for long, so don't miss out. Call now!
