This Nash Metropolitan may be small in stature, but not in
character! This bucket of sunshine was recently rescued from a
long, 20-30 year slumber in a Wisconsin shed. It originally came
out of Hollywood, CA and we believe it remained there until 1983,
when it came to Wisconsin. It has been in the same family ever
since. Thanks to an old-school mechanic who can read the mind of
any classic car, this Nash is back on the road and ready for some
summertime fun-time!
Anything that this car needed to be road worthy again, was
done!
Here is a list of the work done since April 2, 2021:
Rebuilt water pump
Rebuilt carb
Rebuilt fuel pump
Rebuilt clutch slave cylinder
Rebuilt clutch master cylinder
Rebuilt brake master cylinder
New front & rear wheel cylinders
New coil and rotor
New speedo cable
New brake hoses
New generator
New voltage regulator
4 new tires
Fresh oil & filter
Tune-up
Valve cover gaskets
The paint was touched up and shined up, the interior was detailed,
and with the new skins, this little lady is ready to go! With 42
horsepower, we hear it will do 0 to 60 mph in a whopping 19
seconds! Reasonable offers considered. Financing/Shipping
available, we sell worldwide!
From Hagerty.com: The Metropolitan was envisioned to be a "personal
use" car for shopping, commuting, etc., and was not intended to be
a prime vehicle for households. It was available as a two-seat
convertible or two-seat hardtop, and came equipped with a map
light, electric windshield wipers and "Continental" spare tire. The
Metropolitan was intentionally marketed to women of the day, the
first car to have that distinction. These cars will stop car show
participants in their tracks, and the look of surprise and delight
on people's faces is generally something enjoyable to see.
Terms of Sale: All vehicles are sold AS-IS with no warranties of
any kind, and all sales are final. We strongly encourage you to
inspect, in person, any vehicle you are considering purchasing.
Third party inspections are also welcomed and encouraged. To place
a vehicle on hold for 7 days to allow for an inspection, a deposit
of $500 (via credit card) is required. This deposit will be applied
to the purchase price. This deposit is refundable should you
inspect the car and decide it's not the one for you, but once you
take delivery, it's yours. All sales are final. Acceptable forms of
final payment include cash, cashier's check (once cleared), or wire
transfer. A $100 dealership service fee is added to the final
purchase price. Wisconsin residents will pay sales tax and titling
fees. Out-of-state buyers will be responsible for any applicable
taxes and registration in their state/country of residence.
