Jeep built the XJ Series Cherokee from 1983 through 2001 and it helped revolutionize the 4x4 market as the first 'compact' 4-door SUV with Uni-body construction. Anyone who knows about the Cherokee XJ will tell you that it is virtually indestructible. This all-original 1999 Cherokee Sport 2WD is a rare example of this classic Jeep. Most XJs have led 'less than pampered' life-styles, but that is not the case here. Our XJ has been owned by only two families</B and has lived in Florida, Georgia and NC - absolutely no rust. It has never been in an accident, seen a spray gun or been 'off-roaded'. (Owner has furnished the factory Owner's Manual and original window sticker.) The original exterior Gunmetal Pearl finish has been well maintained and 15"x7" factory steel wheels mount 'Firestone Destination' radial tires in good condition. Westin 3" side step bars have been fitted and the roof is equipped with a factory adjustable rack system. The original Agate premium cloth interior is in very good condition with very little wear (non-smoker Jeep). A second optional Light Group Package adds headlight-off time delay, under-hood light, overhead map light/console and illuminated visor mirrors. A Sirius radio package, new headliner and new tailgate hydraulics have also been installed. (Owner will need Sirius receiver and contract.) Under the hood is one of Jeep's best-ever engines - the 4.0L straight 6-cylinder (never rebuilt) with Chrysler's JTEC engine management system and MPI fuel injection that purrs.
