For Sale: 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in Streamwood, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This PHS documented 1977 Special Edition Trans Am ( Signed by Burt Reynolds) Mr. Reynolds signed the Hood Scoop before 3 layers of clear was applied and Glove box door. This car has had a full rotisserie restoration. No expense spared. The body lines, gaps and depth of color on this car will amaze. This car is investment quality , beautiful and fast. Loaded with factory options Pontiac 400, TH350 automatic transmission. Tinted glass. Power windows, power locks, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, air conditioning, Hurst T-tops, lombardy cloth deluxe interior. Vey rare console option. Courtesy lighting group and of course Special Edition Package ( "Bandit Car" ). PHS documents including 2 window stickers go with the car. All indications are the 89,000 miles on the odometer are original.

UNDER BODY & UNDER-HOOD:

Powder coated sub-frame, transmission brace and control arms. Hotchkis lowering springs front and rear makes this car sit perfect. New KYB shocks all around painted in factory grey, black Poly-graphite suspension bushing, transmission and body mounts, all new brake parts, front disc and rear drum, new cad plate power booster/master cylinder/proportioning valve assembly, new emergency brake cables, stainless steel brake, fuel and transmission lines, new fuel tank, sending unit and fuel pump. Original radiator with original professionally re-cored with heavy duty core; new heater core, fan motor and AC lines and filter accumulator and power steering pump. new PS hoses, coolant hoses and belts all around, new GM/Delco Battery and cables. New "Hi-Torque" brand mini starter.

DRIVE TRAIN:

Original numbers matching Pontiac block, motor professionally built, estimated 460hp and 530 ft lbs. of torque. I have over 50 pictures from the motor builder that show the quality of work plus all build data. New parts include, Eagle Stroker Crank Shaft, new H-Beam Rods and Pistons makes this motor 461 cubic inch, new Melling oil pump, new water pump and harmonic blancer, comp cams hydraulic flat tappet cam, new timing gears and chain.

Original cast iron 6 x 8 Pontiac heads. Professionally ported. milled and assembled with new stainless steel valves with larger 1.77" exhaust valves ( stock was 1.66". ) valve springs, 1.65 roller rockers, screw in studs and new guides, 91 octane pump gas friendly 9.5 compression.

Edgebrock Performer intake,  gasket matched to heads. Original Quadra jet carb rebuilt and tuned for this motor by Cliff's Quadra in Ohio. This carb set up is outstanding, no hiccups or hesitation. Doug's ceramic 1-7/8" headers feed into a pipes 2-1/2" dual stainless exhaust system with polished stainless Trans Am splitter tips.

Numbers Matching TH350 Automatic Transmission, freshly rebuilt for high horsepower/torque application. New 2600 rpm stall converter, correct Pontiac 10 bolt Posi-Traction rear end with  3.23:1 gears. New Year One 17" Snowflake Wheels with new center caps and lug nuts. New P275/35/17 nitro 555 tires front and rear.

BODY:

Original doors, fenders, hood, GM deck lid, only patch panels on rear quarters ( small ones behind rear wheels ) New trunk drops, new floor pan. Year One fiberglass front nose and rear bumper, original wheel flares, new glass all around with correct data code etchings. Original window trims stripped and refinished, new doors handles. Body was media stripped to bare metal then prepared on rotisserie. Underbody primed then painted in factory red oxide primer with black over spray all edges simulating factory over-spray. Under body primed then clear coated in satin for easy cleaning. Entire body primed, blocked, wet sanded and sealed before 4 coats of Starlight blake base coat and 5 coats of clear. Then wet sanded with 1000, 1500, 2000 & 2500 grit then finished with 3M Finesse it finishing products before a Pheonix Graphics Special Edition Premium kit was molded strips was applied. All weather strip and seals are new.

INTERIOR:

New Interior including seat covers with rebuilt foam and seat springs, new door panels, head liner, dash, console and rare rear console. Carpet and carpeted logo floor mats are new as well. All other interior plastic is in very good to excellent condition including the lower door panels. New package shelf and trunk divider, new window motors wired with relays for reliable operation. The original prism dash was restored by Randy Combs. Dynamat sound deadening throughout the interior cabin. A custom Autosound radio installed for the vintage look. Radio has a USB input cable and is connected to new Boston Acoustics 6 x 9 in rear deck and a Custom Autosound 4 x 7 dual voice coil specaker canter location of the dash.
