This example has Signal Red exterior paint with a black leather interior. It is powered by a 5.3 liter, V12 engine with four carburetors and a 4-speed manual transmission putting out 272 horsepower. Other features include radial tires, original factory wire wheels with knock-offs, and front and rear disc brakes. Original manuals and records accompany the car showing all work performed by the current owner. Odometer reads 80,500 miles.
In 1961, Jaguar introduced the “E-Type,” or “XKE” as it became commonly known. The car was instantly recognized as one of the most handsome sports cars ever built and has been a highly desirable item since its introduction. Just under 8,000 were produced.
