Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 22nd year in the
classic and muscle car business. The decade of the 1950's was a
very successful one for the Ford Motor Company. First, their
envelope-bodied 1949 models set the world on fire, helping Ford
outsell Chrysler and return to profitability by 1952. Then, with
the wildly popular 1955-1957 models Ford closed in on Chevrolet and
then outsold them in 1957 for the first time since 1935. As one of
the cars that helped to save Ford, we're pleased to offer this
clean 1956 Ford Customline 2-Door Sedan. This jewel looks fantastic
in its correct Berkshire Green and Colonial White livery (VE2),
with the correct Medium Green Vinyl and Medium Green Bodycloth
(CA2) trim complimenting the paint perfectly. Additional features
include a 292 ci Thunderbird V8, 3-speed manual transmission, power
front disc brakes, Classic Auto Air A/C, aluminum radiator with
shroud, and a working factory AM radio. Restored about 10 years
ago, this creampuff drives beautifully and comes with receipts
totaling over $25K. An interesting anecdote from the period has Tom
McCahill of Popular Mechanix quoting Bill France, the president of
NASCAR, as saying, Ford...has the best steel in the industry,
referring to the fact that Fords withstood the tortures of NASCAR
better than other makes. This is a very nice example of an
important car sporting good upholstery, carpet, dash, headliner,
and paint, with the added bonus of excellent driving dynamics. Come
see the team that can make your dream a reality. Street Dreams
