how well it drives. - Car and Driver, October 2017 The 2018
Navigator brochure, describing just some examples of the attention
to detail in the vehicle's interior that characterize the model
overall, noted: Lincoln artisans honed every aspect of this serene
sanctuary. The sweeping horizontal lines of the hand-wrapped
dashboard reinforce the spaciousness. Real wood trim naturally
enriches the ambience. French seams on the upholstery are stitched
precisely 6mm apart. European stitching adorns the Wollsdorf
leather-trimmed heated steering wheel. The Navigator-particularly
in L Reserve trim-is a commanding 3-row luxury SUV at the very top
of the genre. Offered here in Black Velvet over Dark Slate (black
and gray) is an exceptionally well cared-for example; the vehicle's
condition is very much like new. With over $10,000 in options in
the build, it's hard to imagine what wasn't checked on the original
special-order form. (Be sure to view the factory window sticker for
all the details, and check out the list presented here for the
enhancements made afterwards.) The exterior black paint is in
excellent condition and, together with the tinted glass,
gloss-black 22-inch wheels, and all chrome professionally
refinished in black, the look is impressive. Fit for a king isn't
much of an overstatement. All the cabin glass is free of any signs
of damage; lighting lenses-which take on added visual interest
against the black backgraound-are clear and bright. The LED
headlights and full-width taillights are particularly distinctive.
In the same way, the classic Lincoln emblem in the front grille
makes a statement well-suited to the proud history of the Lincoln
brand. Inside, the luxurious comfort of passengers and pilot was a
priority for the designers, and they did their work well. No other
luxury brand exceeds the Lincoln standards. Wherever one looks, the
details tell the tale: the speaker grilles (20 speakers in all plus
sub-woofers in the Revel Ultima® audio system); seat adjustment
controls on the door panels the back-and-gray leather upholstery on
the perfectly bolstered seats; the second-row console with
rear-seat audio controls; the electronic controls for folding
either or both second and third rows of seats (all seating is
heated); the rear-seat entertainment system; the controls on the
multi-function steering wheel; the 12-inch configurable
driver-instrument display; the perfect sheen and character of the
dark ash wood trim on the dash and consoles; the 10-inch pop-up
driver-information screen with state-of-the-art graphics, Bluetooth
connectivity, navigation, audi
