The W123 chassis Mercedes Benz first hit the market in 1976 and was
an overnight sensation. There were year long waiting lists and
demand was so strong that used examples were more expensive than
new models. The car represented the best of the company. Rock solid
build quality, safety, innovation, and prestige. Many consider the
W123 to be one of the greatest cars ever made, with nearly 3
million being produced when production ended in 1985. With five
different bodies styles and a dozen engine choices, there was a
