The engine was rebuilt at the time of restoration as well. The current owner has owned the car for 11 years and got it from a collector in Minnesota. Highlights include Twin H Power, Kleenex dispenser, whitewall tires, dual Range Hydramatic transmission, view finder, day/night mirror, door edge guards, outside mirrors, electric fuel pump, door handle guards, wire wheel caps, radio, power brakes, power steering, electric clutch. The interior is in excellent condition in every aspect.

The unique engineering behind the Hornet also allowed for significantly better driving characteristics than comparable vehicles from other luxury brands such as Cadillac. Since the body sat lower, the vehicle had a lower center of gravity making for silky smooth handling. The Hornet drove so well that it was an unstoppable force on the tracks. In the beginning days of NASCAR, the Hornet just kept winning races.
