Vehicle Description
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible is an exemplary example of
a Tri-Five Chevy. 1955 was the first year of the second generation
Bel Air and featured updated styling and the first year with a V8.
The Bel Air was the top-of-the-line model for Chevrolet in 1955 and
they were equipped with more chrome trim, plusher interiors,
wraparound windshield, and the iconic gold "Chevrolet" script and
gold "V" on the hood. The headlights were also updated on the
Bel-Airs to the famous "hooded" look that was carried through the
rest of the Tri-Five era cars. This particular example comes to us
from a prominent Texas collector out of his very large collection
of vintage cars and trucks. A 265 Cubic Inch V8 is paired with a
single 4 barrel carburetor on this Bel Air Convertible and gives
off a great sound through the dual exhaust out the rear of the
vehicle. The 265 V8 is mated up to an Automatic Transmission that
is a total joy to drive. The exterior of this stunning '55 Chevy
has been refinished in beautiful Roman Red paint that really makes
this Bel Air Convertible stand out. The exterior chrome and
brightwork on this Chevy Bel Air are in excellent condition,
appearing to have been recently restored. The beige canvas power
convertible top is in fantastic condition and works great and it is
operated with the simple flick of a switch. This Bel Air sits on 4
wide whitewall bias ply tires with steel rims and wire wheel
covers, which give this '55 a stunning 50s look. The rear
whitewalls sit beautifully behind fender skirts as well. The
interior on this 1955 Bel Air is exceptional! The red and beige
simulated leather bench seats look fantastic and are in like-new
condition. The steering wheel and door panels look great and appear
as they did when this Bel Air rolled off the Norwood, Ohio factory
floor. The dash is in fantastic condition and it's in its stock
configuration, equipped with a speedometer, temperature gauge, gas
gauge, AM radio, electric clock, and controls for the Vintage Air
A/C unit. Perhaps to most significant added-on option on this Bel
Air is that it has air conditioning, so that you can stay cool even
on the hottest summer days. If you're looking for the
quintessential 50s cruiser, we've got a superb 1955 Chevrolet Bel
Air Convertible right here at Ellingson Motorcars. Give us a call
