Vehicle Description
This 1957 International Resto-Mod Metro Van started as a daily
service vehicle at the Air Force base in Ely, NV, and then went to
the base in Cutbank, MT. This custom Resto-Mod was purchased by the
current owner in November 2019 in Cutbank and was built at the
owner's retail hot-rod shop. This van is finished in a beautiful
oil-rubbed patina and is finished with all its original sheet
metal. The body has custom-fabricated rear wheel tubs, frenched
1950s Pontiac rear LED taillights, all new glass and windshield
with new seals. The underbody is coated with truck bed liner, and
all doors open and close well. The rebuilt 2005 GMC LS 4.8-liter V8
engine has a Fast Fuel intake and 92mm throttle body, a medium COMP
cam, springs and lifters, flat-top pistons and a Holley front
accessory drive, mated to a 4L65E overdrive automatic transmission.
This van is equipped with a Corvette Type 2 power steering pump,
electric cooling fans, large amp alternator, a custom aluminum
radiator, power steering and power brakes. Additionally, this van
is equipped with a custom-built driveshaft and 12-bolt rear end on
a 1966 C10 chassis modified for air and lay-frame design with new
engine and transmission mounts, and full air-ride setup with Slam
Specialties bags and management system. Features include dual Viair
480 compressors, a custom-built aluminum large-volume fuel cell,
custom-bent brake and fuel delivery lines and CPP front power disc
brakes with rear drums, a custom-built 3-inch Flowmaster kit with
cross pipe, Hooker high-flow exhaust manifolds and Flowmaster
mufflers. The interior is mostly stock appearance with custom
interior pinstriping, front buckets with two rear passenger bench
seats, and features a custom-fabricated engine doghouse and
custom-fabricated interior metalwork, including the dash. With new
door seals and weatherstripping, the interior also features all new
Omega white-face gauges, Bluetooth and a headliner featuring
shellacked vintage concert posters. This Metro Van rides on 22-inch
steel powder-coated wheels with custom U.S.-made 6-lug spider caps
and new tires.
