Vehicle Description
This 1987 Chevy K10 regular-cab short-box pickup received a
frame-off restoration and is powered by a GM Performance ZZ502 V8
engine. The 502ci V8 routes power through a 4L80E automatic
transmission and uses a GM transfer case, 3/4-ton axles with
Detroit lockers and 4.56 gear ratio. The big-block V8 features
several upgrades, including 255LPH fuel pumps, ceramic-coated
headers and a custom-made stainless-steel exhaust system.
Additionally, the drivetrain features a TCI handheld transmission
programmer, a B&M transmission cooler and 2,000 rpm stall
converter. The custom pickup rides on 17x12-inch Weld Racing wheels
wrapped in SSR series 38x15.50x17 Super Swamper Radial TSL tires.
Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners. For
suspension, the Chevy uses a 4-link suspension with a set of King
Shocks coilovers. The chassis has been sandblasted and
powder-coated, and the body is finished in Ferrari F40 red paint
with a color-matched spray-in bed liner. A 1989 Suburban-style
grille and custom-made step bars complete the exterior, and the
Corbeau red and black racing seats with 5-point harnesses are
hidden by tinted windows.
