Vehicle Description
With a cool color combo, even cooler vintage droptop attitude, and
a terrific restoration, this 1963 Ford Falcon Futura Sports
Convertible is a great classic worth plenty of attention. And when
the crowds do gather you'll be able to tell this drop-top's unique
story.
The info that we were told on this is that it started out with a
long-term first owner. He was a US Air Force colonel, and both he
and the car spent most of their time in northern Mississippi. That
means no salt from the roads or sea spray. Its only other owner
performed a comprehensive restoration on the car. It was complete
about five years and 5k miles ago. The trim tag tells us this is
presented in its correct Corinthian White, but the outstanding
gloss today is the product of a careful respray during the
restoration. A deep shine is what you want on a sunshine-friendly
convertible, and this also really shows off the quality body
panels. This top-of-the-line Futura trim keeps its premium look
with plenty of jewelry, ranging from the arrow-shaped side trim, to
the neat little "bombsight" fender ornaments up front (perfect for
an Air Force man.) Plus, everything from the chrome bumpers to the
correct wire wheel covers have a quality shine.
The crisp black convertible top has a nice contrast against the
white body, but for true distinction, you're going to want to power
it down. The red interior has a bold look, and the exterior trim
makes sure to give you a well-coordinated package inside and out.
This has a terrific vintage look from the artful steering wheel, to
the bright trim on the doors and dash. Premium front bucket seats,
a center console, and a well-placed stick shift make this a great
classic cruiser. This even has a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner
w/cassette so that you can keep a vintage look while upgrading your
driving tunes.
The 170 cubic-inch inline-six motor boldly radiates from within the
dark engine bay. We all know these Falcons can accept the Mustang's
level of V8 power, but that's not the point on a car like this.
With so much history, it's great to have what's believed to be the
original powerhouse displayed with pride. It was rebuilt during the
restoration to be a smooth-running machine ideal for any time
driving. So it's easy to hop in, fire it up, and take full control
with the four-speed manual transmission. It's the kind of classic
that wants you to feel the road, but it also has a good feeling of
a solid driver sitting on modern tires.
The sale comes with plenty of great extras. You get paperwork like
the original warranty card, owner's manual, service manuals, and
build receipts. There are also cool extras like a car cover and a
fender protector. It all proves this an exceptional Falcon drop-top
with an exceptional presentation. Don't miss out, call today!
