For Sale: 1971 Chevrolet C/K 30 in Lithia Springs, Georgia
This 1971 Chevrolet C30 Longhorn is an impressive truck for those
who love real classic pickups. It's a rare extra-long bed
extra-duty truck. And not only does it have exceptional
originality, but there's also exceptional paperwork to help tell
this unique truck's story.
C30s were built to be workhorses, and so that's what gets us
excited about how this one is presented today. The Medium Blue
paint is factory correct and is said to be factory original. It
looks the part of a true workhorse with the patina and pitting from
getting the job done. After these C30s are one-ton trucks with a
ton of usefulness. This includes the 8-lug wheels, large trailering
mirrors, and a proper trailer hitch. Plus, that job-ready wood bed
tells this pickup's unique story. It has a level of workman style,
and that's what the Longhorn was all about. This package was only
available on the upper-level C20 and C30 trucks. These were
exclusively meant for extra-duty single-cab long-wheelbase pickups.
They extend the bed an extra six inches for better weight
distribution on longer campers. You can even see the special seam
right behind the cab where they welded the bed at the factory. It
may not seem like the most elegant solution, but it's how truck
propel can spot a Longhorn. Besides, Chevy didn't have to do it too
often: it's believed they made less than 1,500 C30 Longhorns in
1971. The value price on this truck can leave room in your budget
for any sort of improvements or personal style you may want to do.
But really, there's something very cool about how this highly
documented pickup is already presented today. It's like the
ultimate shop truck survivor. And so it feels like this needs
nothing more than just a clearcoat to help lock in its well-earned
style.
The interior continues the feeling of a true classic pickup. The
factory-correct blue looks especially nice on the textured bench
seat. And the steel doors and rubber floor really have that durable
truck vibe. There have been a few upgrades, but they feel like the
ones you would have made over the years on a true work truck. The
AM/FM/CD stereo gives you better driving music for those long days
in the field, and the three-spoke steering wheel has a nice grippy
feeling to give you firm control.
The engine is a 350 cubic-inch V8, as advertised on the front
fenders. And on a truck that's felt so much like a time machine so
far, it looks especially honest and correct. So it's hard to
believe this is anything but the original powerhouse. A work truck
is a faithful friend, and you give it good maintenance. That's why
you'll spot newer elements, like the Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor, alternator, fuel pump, and hoses. It keeps this V8 a
strong-running powerhouse. Add in features like power steering,
power brakes, front discs, and the stout but smooth TH400
three-speed automatic transmission, and you can see this C3 is
still ready to get to work (or play).
The sale comes complete with terrific paperwork, including the
factory buildsheet, window sticker, dealer invoice, and
protect-o-plate warranty card. You also get original components,
like the wheels, carburetor, and distributor. This is the distinct
C30 Longhorn that is presented with a terrific sense of its workman
style. So when you can have something unique, preserved, and
affordable, you know you need to call today!
