1993 Ford Mustang LX Convertible
The Fox Body Mustang is the third generation of Ford's iconic
muscle car, lasting from 1979 to 1993. They're referred to as the
Fox Body Mustangs since they used the new Fox platform. As one of
the longest-running generations, the Fox Body saw quite a few major
changes over the years. Many consider the Fox Body as a return to
what worked for the first-generation Mustang. It was a step away
from the failings of the Mustang II. The Fox Bodies were popular at
the time, but they've grown in popularity even more over the past
few years. The third-gen Mustang has gained a reputation as a
wrencher's dream, and with the right Fox Body mods, it can drive
like one too.
For consignment, a sly fox bodied 2.3 Liter Mustang convertible.
This one comes to us in good condition. Bathed in white with a
black canvas top, how can you go wrong with this one?
All laser straight steel panels with meticulously minded gaps, no
rust, no errors and factory paint bathed in Vibrant White, this car
is very nice. The red trim band has been added encircling the
entire and the front embossed neoprene bumper badge is now painted
in red as well. This adult owned gem features a rear luggage rack
that is reminiscent of a spoiler. The black power convertible top,
which is nice and tight, and has a clear rear window. To make the
bold color pop even more, this retro Mustang is outfitted with a
set of cast satin finished 16-inch pony wheels on all four corners.
Also noted is a noise and tight top boot covering for then you are
letting the sun shine in...the suuuuuh uuuuh uuuuuh uuuuh -un,
shine in! (Age of Aquarius, March 1969).
An immaculate red vinyl covered door paneled interior is the
perfect contrast to this pony's vibrant white exterior. Interior
highlights include red velour broadcloth covered front buckets and
back 2 plus 2 bench, red floor mats, a red vinyl wrapped steering
wheel. The car sports an aftermarket AM/FM digital radio. Even
better, when the top is up on this 'Stang, the creature comfort of
air conditioning keeps everything inside nice and cool. An
additional shout out to the trunk where it is lined with the black
felt and all buttoned up with nary a mark back here.
Under the hood is all corrosion free and shiny. No rust, drips or
errors on this 2.3 liter electronic fuel injected inline 4-cylinder
engine. On the back is an A4LD 4-speed automatic which throws power
to the rear Ford 7.5 inch 3.08 rear axle.
Up on the left we can see some surface rust peppering the floor
pans and upper undercarriage which also has factory white
overspray. Nice black unibody edges, near perfect suspension,
(independent coil springs for the front, and 4 link with coil
springs for the rear), all being totally rust free. Noted also is
single exhaust, power steering, power disc brakes for the front,
and power drums for the rear.
A turn of the key and I was the conductor for an 4 cylinder
symphony, with the accelerator as my wand. During my test drive I
put this car through its paces where it performed beautifully,
handled like a dream, and was like driving a new 1993 Mustang. The
top down is always an added bonus!
A truly sly fox here in our hallowed halls, convertible in LX
trimming awaiting its new caretaker to enjoy for many more years it
