According to the Porsche Certificate, #1199 was delivered to Jones
Porsche in Springfield, Massachusetts, on July 20, 1971, in
Adriatic Blue (1610) with a Black leatherette and a basketweave
interior. The original owner was Melvin Pervais Jr. from Vernon,
Vermont who owned this car for 21 years until it was sold in 1992
to the second owner who had this car until 2020. Options include:
USA equipment, a tinted windshield, leather-covered steering wheel,
fog lights, and a center seat cushion. Forged Fuch alloy 5.5" x 15"
wheels with Hankook 195/60 R15. Finished in Silver Metallic with
excellent gaps and panel fit. The paintwork is in good condition
with a few imperfections in the paintwork. The glass is
all-original and the chrome is in good condition. The interior is
in very good condition with a perfect dash, seats, carpets, and
only one small rip in the center seat cushion.
In late 2020, European Collectibles purchased this 914-6; it was
very straight and had been stored for several years. EC did a full
service on the engine and transmission, replaced the fuel lines,
detailed the gauges, and detailed the undercarriage.
Mechanically, powered by a non-matching number 2.0-liter Flat Six
engine with a 5-speed manual dogleg transmission. According to a
letter from the selling agent in 1992 the engine was rebuilt to
2.0L 911E factory specs producing approximately 160HP along with
the transmission being rebuilt to factory specs with new bearings
and synchros. This 914-6 drives amazing with plenty of power,
smooth shifting transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes. Complete
with a Certificate of Authenticity, Porsche maintenance record
book, owner's manual, and spare tire.
