This is an old school cool hot rod! The 33 Ford 3 window coupe with
a chopped top is the iconic hot rod. This one is done up with a
nostalgic feel from the chrome grill and tri-power carbs to the
whitewall slicks. But don't worry, it has some of today's
conveniences like air conditioning, power 4 wheel disc brakes and
an overdrive automatic. Only 600 miles since built.
EXTERIOR: I love the look of this car. New fenderless fiberglass
body with suicide doors from Badass Rod Mfg. Painted a gloss black
with a red pinstripe. It has original style handles on the trunk
and doors. It also has an original style chrome grill ($2,400 from
Bob Drake) which really dresses the car up. Most of these have a
painted fiberglass grill. It also has old school type headlights
and classic round taillights with blue dots. It has smoked glass.
The red painted wire wheels with white walls really give it that
vintage look. The wheels are 15 inch reproductions from wheel
Vintiques with V-8 caps and trim rings. They are wider in back. All
four have Firestone reproduction tires and in back they are
Dragsters street slicks.
INTERIOR: The red interior really pops. The entire cabin is
upholstered. The custom bucket seats recline. It has cut and sewn
carpet on the floor, a Lokar shifter with an 8 ball knob. It has an
aluminum steering column with a disconnect custom wheel. The dash
has a classic set of Stewart Warner white face gauges. There's a
nostalgic Mooneyes tachometer on the dash. It also has power
windows, deadbolt locks for the suicide doors, seat belts and
billet pedals. The a/c controls and vents are neatly installed.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: I like the exposed motor because this one has a
lot to show off. It's a 350 motor with Comp cam and Edelbrock
aluminum heads. It has an aluminum intake and a nostalgic 3 duece
carb system with chrome air cleaners. It also has a billet
distributor, coated headers and it is dressed up with finned valve
covers. It has heat and air conditioning, the compressor and dryer
is chrome. An aluminum radiator and a big electric fan keeps the
engine cool. It has a chrome alternator, premium dipsticks for the
motor and trans.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It was boxed and upholstered. The floor is
carpeted. The back wall opens to fill the fuel and the battery is
located in there. It has billet hinges and a nice prop rod.
UNDERSIDE: Upfront it has a Speedway drop axle with chrome shocks,
a transverse leaf spring, chrome tubular trailing arms. In back it
has a triangulated four link system with tubular control arms and
coilover adjustable gas shocks. The frame rails are boxed with
tubular supports. It features disc brakes at all four wheels, the
power brake booster unit is mounted under the car. The dual exhaust
has small cherry bomb style mufflers for a hot rod sound. Looking
up at the motor it has a finned aluminum oil pan, chrome flywheel
cover and high torque starter. The 700R-4 overdrive automatic also
has a finned aluminum oil pan. In back is a Ford 9-inch rear end
with 3.50 posi gears. Everything under the car from the hardware to
the frame looks fresh.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
