Built for nearly twenty years, the 107 was the second longest
running single series by Mercedes Benz. The only one longer in the
history is the G-Class, which is still being built to this day.
They were sold under the SL (R107) a two- seat roadster with
detachable hard-top and soft-top and the SLC (C107) a four-seat
coupe version. Both of these cars were offered many variations of
engines throughout the years. This particular 380 is not going to
win any beauty contests as the seller claims, she drove this car
every summer as her daily vehicle anywhere and everywhere. The body
has some scratches, surface rust in spots, facing and a couple
dents here and there. The soft-top flat out needs to be replaced
but the hard-top is in good condition. The sellers close friend was
the head of the auto tech program at the local community college
and in the last couple of years they performed water pump, timing
chain, belts, hoses and seals, a tune up, brakes, calipers and new
muffler. The tires are also in good condition. This 380 comes with
owners manuals, clean carfax and two sets of keys. It starts, runs
and drives down the road very nicely. It idyles smoothly with no
smoke at start up and it does not leak. This car would make a great
candidate for a cosmetic restoration or just drive the wheels off
of it as it sits.
