1962 Jaguar Mark II
Why This Car Is Special
The Jaguar Mark II was a mid-sized luxury sports saloon built from
late 1959 to 1967 by Jaguar in Coventry, England. The Mark 2 was a
fast and capable saloon in line with Sir William Lyons' 1950s
advertising slogan: Grace . . . Space . . . Pace. There was no
direct successor to the Mark 2 series.
We have a beautiful completely restored vintage 1962 Jaguar Mark II
3.8 sedan here at Skyway Classics. It is so handsome and offers a
spirited driving experience exactly as what you would expect
Jaguar.
Mechanical
Take a look under the long hood and you will see the heart of the
car, the 3.8 liter DOHC inline-six cylinder engine that makes all
the power and torque needed to power this luxury sedan.
The renowned XK series motor is very reliable with the great
performance of this legendary Straight 6 throughout the years. It
has the dual snorkel polished aluminum air cleaner, factory
exhaust, stock looking block, intake, and everything else in the
clean and detailed engine compartment, as it looked when it was
new.
The undercarriage looks as new also and is incredibly clean,
featuring a H.D. suspension,
dual exhaust system that sounds fantastic, the wider rear track
that allowed better handling and deleted the antiquated rear
fenders skirts, 4-wheel disc brakes, gorgeous wire wheels with
spinners and riding on red-line performance tires too.
Interior
Jaguar is famous for plush interiors with British elegance and ours
has the restored red soft leather seats front and rear, deeply red
plush carpets, pretty burled walnut accents and dash, red steering
wheel, red carpets, 4-speed automatic transmission lever on the
column, round Smith's speedometer, tachometer and gauges, and the
center panel in the dash that houses auxiliary gauges and an array
of switches and levers.
Below the dash is the updated stereo radio system, a small middle
console for a little extra storage, and a trunk which is tastefully
restored and is cavernous.
Exterior
Our Jag is dressed in a Silver/Black two-tone finish with the new
paint flowing gracefully over the long and sleek hood and flowing
body lines.
The styling of the Mark II sedan is unmistakably Jaguar with plenty
of bright trim, the iconic Jaguar oval grille, and the wonderful
taillight housings in back.
Conclusion
This beautiful completely restored vintage 1962 Jaguar Mark II 3.8
