Vehicle Description
This is how a 1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was always supposed to be.
The bold looks are now backed up by a well-built 383ci stroker V8
with all the right performance goodies. And there's even added
comfort everywhere from the updated interior to the overdrive
transmission. So read on for all the details about this
thoughtfully upgraded T-top coupe.
You know you love the look of these final-year 2nd generation
Camaros. The angular body matured into a seamless and chrome-free
design that makes it look even a bit modern today. It only gets
better with this car's correct Maroon Metallic paint. It has the
aggressiveness of red, but there's also a deeper tone and nice
shine that adds sophistication. It's an ideal backdrop for the
earth tone stripes that look like a desert sunset. And even the
special N90 alloy wheels coordinate with the stripes for an
especially sharp style. It still carries all the correct Z/28
features, like the chin spoiler that wraps around to the wheel
openings, a proper hood scoop, blackout grille, fender vents, and
the full-width spoiler out back. Plus, the clear glass, good window
rubber, and proper-fitting T-tops give this the right feeling of
quality care all-around. This car was a passion project for the
consignor, and he even kept an extensive receipt file for the last
five years of work done on this coupe.
The interior is also part of this thoughtfully done total package.
The tan/brown setup coordinates well with the tone of the exterior
stripes. And the seats have an absolutely awesome look with the
maroon inserts and piping that go with the exterior paint. The
T-tops are great to open you up to the world, and the upgraded
AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input means your favorite music is heard
loud and clear while you have a wind-in-your-hair driving
experience. Converted R-134 AC blows freezing cold. This was built
with the driver in mind. That's why you have high-back front bucket
seats, a center console in-between, and a sports steering wheel on
a tilt column. These are joined by terrific upgrades like crisp
upgraded gauges and a B&M performance shifter
These Z-cars originally had a 350 cubic-inch V8. That was
respectable for its regulation-choked era, but since we know better
today, this one now has the powerful heart to fulfill the Z/28's
speedy style. You're looking at a 383 stroker V8 with performance
upgrades such as aluminum heads, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a
GM Performance high-rise intake, and Doug's long tube headers. It
also has good supporting pieces, like a large aluminum radiator,
dual electric fans, an electronic ignition, and a serpentine belt
system. This is a serious powerhouse that unleashes the kind of
muscle you always knew should be in the Z/28. But the motor also
combines with the four-speed automatic transmission to settle into
an easy driver that includes overdrive comfort. Subframe connectors
and a rear sway bar to give this Camaro even better confidence on
the road. Plus, there are nice anytime features like power
steering, power brakes, front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As with
a deep tread.
The sale comes complete with a large paperwork file that includes
the owner's manual, title documentation, service manuals,
maintenance records, and build receipts. Everyone loves how these
Camaros look, but no one expects them to run this aggressively. So
it's a custom T-top coupe you need to get your hands on right now.
