For Sale: 1969 Meyers Manx SR2 in Seekonk, Massachusetts

Vehicle Description

This awesome 1969 Meyers Manx Dune Buggy #0106 is the real deal with a Meyers Manx Certificate of Authenticity included. It retains its original B.F. Meyers body tag #M3133F915E. The body tag indicates it’s an authentic Manx with production #3133 which was produced in June of 1969 that was painted Royal Blue Metal Flake. This is one of only 5,280 Meyers Manx kits by B.F. Meyers & Co produced and one of a limited amount of authenticated Meyers Manx in the registry. It’s titled as a 1969 ASVE Assembled Vehicle Dune Buggy and not a Volkswagen like many other examples. It has a North Carolina State Assigned VIN number with clean Ohio title. It was the product of a complete restoration in 2013 with less than 5,000 miles since completion. It’s in show quality condition throughout with many upgrades. It was painted in its original and correct color of Royal Blue Metal Flake which is very desirable. Some exterior features include a new tinted windshield, black wipers, custom chrome mirrors, billet gas cap, chrome headlight buckets with H4 headlights and chrome front bumper. It sits on 15” Weld Racing wheels with Mickey Thompson tires. Some interior features include a roll bar, black dash, Autometer gauges, auxiliary outlet, new Flaming River tilt steering column with billet levers, new GT Grant steering wheel, EMPI shifter, adjustable bucket seats with seat belts and center console with cup holders. It’s powered by a rebuilt 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle 1600cc Dual Port engine with many upgrades and chrome accessories. The engine runs and sounds excellent out the Tri-Mil exhaust system. It’s equipped with a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission that shifts very nicely. The undercarriage is very clean throughout with a solid floor and new KYB silver shocks. The original Myers Manx Dune Buggy’s have become highly collectable especially with the passing of Bruce Meyers in 2020. This is a great opportunity!

The exterior of this Meyers Manx is in overall beautiful condition. The fiberglass body is very straight throughout with no signs of cracking. It was painted in its original and correct color of Royal Blue Metal Flake. This color is very desirable and fits this body like a glove. In the sunlight the metal flakes sparkle like a diamond. The paint is show quality and has been detailed to a brilliant shine by MS CLASSIC CARS. The new windshield is the hard to find shorter version that is tinted to reduce glare. The windshield frame was painted gray which t matches the roll cage. The black windshield wipers have re-engineered to be functional. This is rare to find in a dune buggy. When the wipers are on they sweep a large area of the windshield and clean the area of water to allow better visibility. They have a fast and slow speed, a single pass function and also a park feature that stops them at the bottom of the windshield where they should. MS CLASSIC CARS added a new set of custom chrome mirrors which look fantastic. Everything on the exterior was replaced or restored such as the front chrome headlight buckets, H4 headlights, tail light bezels, tail light lenses, chrome front bumper guard, rear taillight bezels, rear taillight bezels and Meyers Manx emblems. It sits on 15” Weld Racing polished staggered wheels. It’s wrapped with Mickey Thompson tires that are 26x8.00 R15LT on the front and 30x12.00 R15LT on the rear.

The interior of this Meyers Manx is in really nice condition throughout. It’s surprising very spacious and comfortable. The interior color mixtures consist of black, blue and gray which complements the exterior. During the restoration it was updated with all new wiring. The wires for a tachometer and a radio are part of the new wiring and clearly marked if the new owner wants to add those items. It has a Manx original black dash that was ordered directly from Meyers Manx during the restoration. It also has a black Autometer fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, oil temp gauge and volt gauge. The dash also has a charging port for your cell phone or any other device. MS CLASSIC CARS added a new black Flaming River tilt steering column with billet levers. MS CLASSIC CARS also added a new Grant GT steering wheel. It’s equipped with adjustable front bucket seats that were upholstered in a gray canvas type material. MS CLASSIC CARS added new front seat belts. The back seat was upholstered in gray leather like material which is soft. Some other interior features include a black center console with cup holders, EMPI chrome shifter with black knob, chrome emergency brake lever and ribbed carpeted floor mats. Everything in the interior is in working order. A North Carolina state assigned VIN number was issued. The NC tags were placed on the driver’s side inner fire wall and on the center console next to the chassis number which is #118788758.

The open engine area is highly detailed with tons of bling. It’s literally like a jewelry box! It’s powered by a 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle 1600cc Dual Port engine with #AH309035. The engine was completely rebuilt during the restoration and runs excellent. The last owner and MS CLASSIC CARS did some service work to the engine which is documented with invoices that are included. It’s equipped with an electronic ignition system for quick starting and reliability. The engine is dressed with tons of chrome throughout. The engine breathes through a new Tri-Mil chrome exhaust system that sounds great. The engine is coupled with a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission. The clutch and transmission shifts operate very smoothly.

The undercarriage is very clean throughout. The floor pan was rust free and painted black. The front suspension ride height is adjustable and the rear suspension has been properly adjusted to keep the tires flat on the road. MS CLASSIC CARS added new brake drums and KYB shocks at all four corners.
This Meyers Manx dune buggy is the real deal and ready for the new owner to enjoy. It’s time to rock and roll. As Meyers Manx states on their website – ““More Smiles Per Mile”
