Vehicle Description
This 1949 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon is an award-winning,
frame-off restored rarity that is sure to keep winning awards in
the future. The Roadmaster became known for its 4 "Ventiports" in
the front fenders and 1949 was the first year for Buick's famous
front fender vent holes. The Roadmaster was the top-of-the-line
series for Buick back in 1949. This particular Buick is also
exceptionally rare being that this Buick is 1 of only 632
Roadmaster Wagons produced in 1949. The Roadmaster had longer front
fenders (to accommodate for the 4 Ventiports on each side), with
Roadmaster script under the Ventiports and on the bumper guard
crossbar centers. The Series 70 Roadmasters were also known for
their plusher interiors and their standard skirted rear wheel
housings. This particular Roadmaster has won a number of national
awards including an Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA)
Senior Award, along with several National Buick Club of America
(BCA) awards as well. It is believed to have underwent its
extensive Frame-Off Restoration while in the hands of a prominent
Buick collector, who amassed a collection of over 30 classic
Buicks. This particular Roadmaster Wagon is powered by a Fireball
320.2 Cubic Inch Straight 8 engine that was capable of pushing out
150 horsepower. The freshly detailed Fireball 320 V8 is mated to a
smooth shifting Dynaflow Drive 2 Speed Automatic Transmission that
just about anybody can drive. The Royal Maroon exterior paint as
well as the mahogany Wood trim is of the highest quality and looks
fantastic. The chrome and brightwork is stellar on this Estate
Wagon. This classic Buick Wagon sits on 4 wide whitewall bias-ply
tires with full chrome Buick wheelcovers, that complete a beautiful
exterior look for this Roadmaster. The interior in this '49 Buick
is absolutely stellar! The Burgundy Leather Bench Seats are in
fantastic condition and featured "Foamtex" seat cushions. The dash,
