Vehicle Description
The sixth generation of F-Series trucks also known as "dentside
Ford" to enthusiasts were built from 1973-1979. Another little bit
of truth is that beginning in 1977 F-series became the best selling
truck in the United States, a position it still holds to this day.
The trucks except for some minor trim changes and such went mostly
unchanged for those 6 years with the exception of 1978 and 1979
modles F-250 and F-350 were given the 351 Cleveland engine vs. the
302 V8. Trim levels were pretty basic with a Custom, Ranger, Ranger
XLT and Ranger Lariat. This particular really cool truck has been
used by the seller pretty sparingly over tha last ten plus years of
ownership basically using it to move trailers around his property
and Hay bales for his horses. The truck was painted at some point a
while back but the color appears to have been white. The paint is
ok at best but the truck is really quite solid with some surface
rust starting in the floors but again, still quite presentable for
the type of vehicle we are talking about. The stake bed is
extremely heavy duty and the frame is in good condition with no
signs of Rot. The 351 has been treated to routine service with the
a newer Edelbrock carb installed in the last couple years. This
truck starts, runs, idyles and goes down the road very nicely with
newer rubber and brakes. The 4-speed is a granny 1st gear set up so
it will tow pretty much anything. All lights work as they should
and it has heat...Other than that, shes pretty basic.
