Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 22nd year in the
classic and muscle car business. With prices where they are in the
classic and muscle car markets, fewer and fewer original cars are
being driven on public roads. It becomes difficult to justify a
brief drive in the sun when an uninsured motorist can wipe out your
$150,000 dream car/investment in the blink of an eye. Hence the
growing popularity of 'tribute' cars. These cars look like the real
thing, but they cost a fraction of what original cars bring while
often outperforming them. This 1968 Mustang convertible is such a
car. Underneath what appears to be a '68 Shelby GT-350 is in fact a
highly modified Mustang that can show its tail lights to an
original. Nestled in the engine bay where a 250 hp 302 would be is
a Ford 347 stroker sporting Edelbrock HP E-Force heads (2.02, 1.60
SS valves), an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold, Holley
carburetor, and a set of Hooker headers. Complimenting the
increased output from engine is a 5-speed manual transmission (more
power + increased torque multiplication = faster!). Additional
features include power steering, power front disc brakes, HD front
stabilizer bar, tubular traction bars, full dual exhaust with
H-pipe, wood rimmed steering wheel, custom interior, and shaved
B.F. Goodrich Gold Stripe radials wrapped around correct
Shelby-style aluminum wheels. It's a guilty pleasure to watch jaws
drop as you fly past in what appears to be a priceless classic!
