Imagine yourself heading to the drive-in theater to watch The
Creature From the Black Lagoon while Earth Angel by The Penguins
plays on the radio. The year is 1954 and John Wayne is probably the
most popular person in America. Imagine you're having the time of
your life driving a drop top Merc.
Everyone has a favorite decade and we happen to love the 1950's.
Popular from that era was the Ford Sunliner. Though this coupe
likely served as a family commuter it's undergone many changes
since that time. Firstly notice the bright top against the deep
maroon finish. The previous owner put $10k in new cloth and
mechanics. And it operates effortlessly. You'll also want to check
out the hand painted pinstriping. It has just the right touch in
various places like the dash and around the antenna area.
But what really separates this car are the design touches. For
example, notice the door handles have been shaved off. Opening the
door requires a tap of your foot on the door popper below the
running board. It works like a charm. All the chrome has been
removed from the nose and deck. And if you've been looking
carefully, you'll also see the headlights and tail lights are
"frenched". But a really sharp Ford Mercury guru will also notice
the front bumper is off a '53 Mercury while the center section is
from a '54. The tail lights and rear bumper are off a '54.
The interior keeps the same theme as the exterior. Upgraded bucket
seats are wrapped in bright white and maroon materials. A 1970's
era Chevrolet steering column replaces the original version making
the driving experience much more pleasurable. And speaking of
driving, under the hood is a General Motors 327 power plant. A 350
automatic transmission delivers that power to a 1967 Ford Fairlane
279 gear ratio making this custom car one you'll enjoy taking to
the drive-in theater!
At the Motor Car Group, we're enthusiasts first. We want you to
enjoy your new car from the minute it's delivered and the trailer
door drops. Before a car leaves our shop, it's gone through
comprehensively, both visually and mechanically. We do more than
just kick the tires, though: We road test (if the weather permits
us here in Cleveland!) and polish it inside and out.
We're proud of our inventory and do our best in describing each
example as accurately as possible. As with all classic cars, it can
be difficult to know the true miles and history. Further, what one
person sees is a gem, another person might not. So before making an
investment, we encourage you to hire the services of a private
inspector for a third party opinion. After all, we want you to be
happy with your car for years to come!
No matter where you'd like your car shipped to, let us make the
arrangements. We've shipped cars all over the world. Delivering
your new ride in an enclosed carrier is nothing new for us. We'd be
honored to arrange all the logistics for you! Every car we sell,
from Sunday drivers through the rarest exotics, is meant to be
driven-get out there!
If you have any questions before, during or after the sale, do not
hesitate to contact us. It's what we're here for! Call us at (440)
914-0000, write to us at
[email protected] or stop by and see
the new shop at 6441 Davis Industrial Parkway, Solon OH 44139.
We're 26 miles from Cleveland Hopkins Airport and we can pick you
up when you come to inspect or purchase your car.
We welcome any prospective buyers, their buyer's agents or
inspectors from Monday through Friday during business hours, as
well as evenings and weekends by appointment. We're car people who
love what we do, and you'll feel it from the first time you contact
us. Give the R&H crew the opportunity to serve you: Our passion
and attention to detail set us apart!
