weren?t any left? MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer
another of Henry Ford?s Ladies created after the Tin Lizzie. This
particular is a great driver with upgraded hydraulic juice brakes
with a dual master reservoir. 1932 Ford rims, shock absorbers front
and rear. It also, has been converted to 12 volt battery and
alternator. This beautifully restored Tudor model was made mid-way
through the A?s five-year run, during April 1929. Finished in
two-tone dark green with black wings and a black vinyl roof, the
exterior is in overall excellent condition. The bodywork is
straight and the engine bay is extremely tidy, the battery appears
new, and the chrome bumpers are bright and shiny. Out back are dual
taillights and a full-size spare tire with black cover and black
wire wheel. Accessories include a Boyce Motometer, the original
temperature gauge and the first aftermarket device; a driver?s side
foglight; a driver?s side windshield wiper; dual sideview mirrors;
external sun visor; and dual horns. This A-bone rolls on Auburn
wide whitewall tires, size 6.00R16, each one mounted on a red wire
wheel. The tires are in very good order while the wheels are in
very good condition. Under the center-hinged hood is a 201 CID
inline four-cylinder mated to a three-speed sliding gear manual
transmission with a 3.77:1 rear end. Inside, the tan broadcloth
interior is in overall great condition. The front seats handle two
people while the full rear bench holds three people. The floor
matting is in satisfactory order while the neutral headliner is in
very good order. A four-spoke, black steering wheel looks great, as
does the green metal instrument panel. There are two Bosch
ancillary gauges under the dash, one for voltage and the other for
coolant temperature plus a floor-mounted shifter, that complete the
interior. The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of
driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals,
throttle, and gearshift. The Model A?s fuel tank was situated in
the cowl, between the engine compartment's fire wall and the dash
panel. It had a visual fuel gauge, and the fuel flowed to the
carburetor by gravity. The Model A was the first car to have safety
glass in the windshield. Competition to this Ford in 1930 included
Chevrolet?s AC International Series Coach, Dodge?s Six Series DA
Coupe and Oakland?s All American Six Series 212, among many others.
