Vehicle Description
1963 Dodge W-100 Power Wagon
NO TITLE-SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE ONLY
In 1957, Dodge brought out a Power Wagon that combined parts from
the military grade truck and their civilian pickup trucks, called
the W100 or W200 (depending on payload rating). These were less
agricultural than the original Power Wagon, but still just as
capable off-road or in a field. There were station wagons like Town
Wagon, and vans like Town Panel as well.
For consignment a potential plow business awaits you with this 1963
Dodge W-100 (1 ton) 4x4 Power Wagon pickup truck. With its
oversized body on seemingly smaller tires and wheels it does not
affect the power this truck has the potential for.
Exterior
Steel molded into the 1963 styling of this truck is bathed in red
paint. There is plenty of dulling to this paint, and several areas
of previous repairs are noted throughout. Also seen is some
invasive rust on the rockers and on the metal bed, currently lined
with rotting wood. The rear is bumperless and on top of the cab is
a contrasting white painted metal panel for the roof. Surface
rusted white wheels are wrapped in knobby tires and badging is all
intact.
Interior
Inside metal door panels frame a molded vinyl rectangular pattern
insert in white (although it's dirty). Stretching from door to door
is a brand new gray toned vinyl bench seat. Upfront the utilitarian
dash stares at your through the original steering wheel. In the
center of the floor is the hydraulic controls for the plow
attachment which is in full operating condition. Rubber floor mats
are installed and above is a zig zag pattern headliner inserted
within a metal roof frame.
Drivetrain
Under the hood and we can dust off the 318ci V8 poly 2 bbl engine.
It has a 3-speed A745 manual transmission on back, and for the rear
differential a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears to get through the deepest
of snow.
Undercarriage
Fairly clean with a fine coating of misted on surface rust. Some
invasive rust is seen on the floor pans revealing what is above
this undercarriage. Leaf springs and drum brakes are on all 4
corners of this 4x4 truck.
Drive-Ability
This truck started and drove nicely but it's good we always test
the brakes prior to getting up a head of steam as this truck is
totally without them! Test drive over, but the plow controls work
fine.
A strong survivor, 1963 Power Wagon W-100 in red with some previous
work done and new parts added here and there. It has begun, but now
it's up to you to take it and run and create a shining example of
this tough power given to us by the White Hat Boys.
