This 1971 Chevy K20 is a really cool restoration with some nice
additions including a LS Motor. It is a wonderful driving truck and
even though it was restored 3-4 years ago it is still in excellent
condition and runs and drives awesome. This is and was a Texas
truck so it has never had any rust issues. The body on this K20 is
really nice and very straight and clean. When it was restored it
was repainted in one of the best color schemes of dark Blue and
White and it looks really cool. There is no rust anywhere on the
body or on the underside which is also really clean. We found no
evidence of rust or bondo anywhere on this truck on the top or
bottom. All of the moldings and chrome/stainless are in great
condition as well. A cool addition is the Amp Electric Running
Boards which come down when you open the doors. They work perfect
and it is a great add-on to this truck.
The interior was also restored and is excellent! The seat was
recovered when restored and they also added new carpet, new deluxe
door panels, new dash, new dash bezel, new visors, new steering
wheel, etc. The inside of the Cab was painted when the interior was
out and they added new seals and westherstripping at that time. A
nice stereo was also installed. All of the lights, gauges, heat,
wipers are working. The horn was inop.
Mechanically this truck is Top Notch and it is a beast with the
installed 5.3L V8 LS engine. It runs and drives excellent and has a
lot of mechanical upgrades to make it a dependable driver. The 5.3
Liter LS engine was from a 2003 Silverado and it runs fantastic
with no issues. Unsure on the exact mileage, but these engines go
300K no problem. They put in a new water pump, new thermostat, new
engine wiring harness, new aluminum radiator and added stainless
steel headers and dual exhaust for a great sound! The fuel tank was
replaced with a Blazer tank so the in cab tank could be removed and
also to install a proper tank for the Fuel Injected Engine (this is
a really nice setup). The transmission is the dependable Turbo 350
Automatic that shifts great and was rebuilt according to the last
owner (no receipt). It is mated to the np205 Transfer case and Twin
Sticks were added and and custom driveshafts with new u-joints. The
4WD works as it should. The rear end is a Corporate 14 Bolt with
Limited Slip and 4.10 Gears and the front end is a Dana 44 with
Power Disc Brakes and 4.10 Gears. The has 4 Inch Custom Suspension
Lift which includes the rear having a shackle flip which gives it a
great ride. The front was done with new longer springs and custom
brackets (professionally done). They added Rancho 9000 Adjustable
Shocks all around with dual shocks in the front. They also added a
dual steering stabilizer. This thing runs, drives, and steers
amazing. What a great truck!!
