Vehicle Description
1966 Red Ford Mustang Fastback
Why This Vehicle is Special
The introduction of the Mustang in 1964 created a new class of
automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang's styling, with its
long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host
of competition including Camaro, Firebird, Cougar and others.
The 1966 Red Mustang we have here at Skyway Classics is the real
deal. You do not find a real Red Mustang with a real 289 Cubic Inch
performance rebuilt engine and 4-barrell carb very often, let alone
one that has been restored to this caliber.
This Mustang is extremely close to factory original, boasting an
extensive restoration with a red exterior with black interior and
much more.
Mechanical
Ours has a 289 cubic inch V-8 engine that the Vin number shows to
be a "C" code 289 which had an output of 200 horsepower. It has the
correct blue painted block and looks very nice with chrome open
element air cleaner, black finned aluminum Cobra valve covers,
performance carb sitting on an aluminum intake, tube headers, and
all sitting in a clean and detailed engine compartment.
Underneath you will find a the chassis is also restored and the
engine is backed by a smooth shifting 4-speed manual transmission,
just added power discs brakes that provide plenty of stopping
power, and a great sounding dual exhaust system with chrome
tailpipes exiting out the back.
Interior
On the restored interior, it is all business. It has the "Pony"
optional black vinyl buckets up front separated by the classic four
on the floor shifter with white cue ball handle and the matching
rear seat. The instrument panel has all the correct factory gauges,
and features a speedometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, oil
pressure gauge and ammeter in five round dials.
It also has the wood and polished steering wheel, radio system,
floor console, and black carpeting.
Exterior
On the outside, our Mustang wears a gorgeous red paint job flowing
over all the iconic body lines and accented by the full length
white racing stripes from front to back.
It has the blacked out grille with fog lamps, side vents on the
roof, white rocker stripes on the side that look so good, and out
back the unique fuel filler cap on the panel between the tail
lamps, with dual exhaust exiting underneath.
Our Mustang has been upgraded with aftermarket American Racing
"Torq-Thrust" grey wheels with a polished lip and center cap on
black wall performance tires. This wheel and tire combination is
totally fitting on this classic pony car, and combined with the
square set body, they give this Mustang a stance that is just
magnificent.

The 1966 Red Mustang we have here at Skyway Classic has about
gorgeous body as you will ever find, outstanding performance, and a
price the every man could afford.
