For Sale: 1970 Ford Torino in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This is a real Cobra 429. 3 owners, claimed to have 68,486 miles. 1st owner bought it in Omaha Nebraska and owned it 40 years, 2nd owner had it 10 years, 3rd had it a short time. I have pictures of Marti Report, original invoice and warranty card. The previous owner is looking for the originals.

EXTERIOR: Good looking sportsroof body lines. It shows straight and fits nice. Repainted it's original Competition Yellow color with blackout hood treatment. Only 460 made in these colors. The paint shows well, it has a smooth glossy finish. It also has hood locks,1 sport mirrors and very desirable factory rear window louvers. The bumpers were rechromed. The grill is very good. The door handles and trim on top of the doors are original with some age showing. The glass is original. There is a Nebraska sticker on the windshield from 1981. It has BFG on its original wheels.

INTERIOR: The interior is all original with the exception of we just have the front seat reupholstered and new carpet on the floor. The dash pad does have a split. Door panels front and back are real nice. Headliner is excellent, dome light works. The instrument panel is very good original. There is nothing cut, broken or modified. It still has the original AM radio. The key ingredient is sticking up through the floor: a 4-speed Hurst shifter.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the big 429 Cobra motor. It's all stock including manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner etc. It also features power steering and power brakes. The compartment looks proper. It has been cleaned and painted nicely. It has original washer bottle, new fan shroud, new decals.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the trunk has been spatter painted. Under the trunk lid and jamb are gloss yellow. The weatherstrips looks new. It has a new mat and is complete with jack and spare.

UNDERSIDE: It is rock solid metal cleaned and sprayed black. Looking up at the motor it looks clean. Starter and fuel pump look new. It has an original top loader 4 speed with RUG AU tag and factory paint markings. Original rear end with original tag. It's a traction lock with 3.25 gears. These cars come with competition suspension. Recent exhaust with crossover pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. Shocks look recent. Fuel sending unit was replaced.

This is the lowest priced 429 Cobra on the market that I could find. It's not a nut and bolt restoration but it shows well, runs well and is the real deal!
