The 300 SL was produced from 1989-1993. And although it shares the
name with the much more famous 300 SL from the Gullwing era, this
chassis designation is the R129, not the W198. Designed in 1984 and
sold elsewhere in the world for longer and with different engine
configurations, the 300 SL was only produced from 1989 through
1993. The single overhead cam motors produced just about 200 HP and
were very smooth. All SL's were equipped with a Aluminum detachable
hardtops and were very pricey when new.
This particular SL is a 2 owner car and has been well kept and
maintained. It rides on newer tires on 16 inch wheels. The 1991 SL
only has 58,127 miles and remains in very good condition. The
Signal Red exterior is clean and the tan leather interior is also
in excellent condition. Highlights include AM/FM/Cassette, owners
manual, windscreen, power seats. The 3.0 Inline 6 cylinder fires
right up and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly as
well.
