For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

In 1967 Chevrolet introduced a stylish new coupe that, along with the Corvette, would come to define the brand's successful foray into motorsports and performance. And, as we've all come to know, the Camaro, backing timeless 2-door style with an array V8 powerplants, was a legend in the making! At RK Motors Charlotte we take pride in specializing in exclusive, world class classics. And that's why we're proud to feature this fully documented, MacNeish-certified L78 Camaro. Wrapping an original big block drivetrain in correct green and black aesthetics, this retro wonder is a glorious trip back to the days of Win On Sunday, Sell On Monday!

UNFATHOMABLY FASHIONABLE

A special-order L78 Super Sport that began its life as the pride and joy of a US Army Lieutenant Colonel, this epic pony car is the beneficiary of a nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration that's clean, mean and ready to drop jaws. During that precise reboot, solid sheetmetal was massaged into great alignment, layered in correct Fathom Green two-stage and streaked with traditional Hockey Stripes. And today, one close look at our high-resolution photos reveals a handsome payoff in the form of one exceptional Chevrolet muscle car!

In a world of lightning quick showroom specials and lights out resto-mods, traditionalism has become a tough line to hold. But anyone who casts even a passing glance at this monochromatic monster would have a hard time arguing that this isn't EXACTLY the way an old school Motor City brute should look! At the front of the car, a menacing grille hangs a timeless "SS" badge between clear headlights, clear parking lamps and a polished bumper that's optioned with correct guards. Above that grille, a Camaro-branded header leads a correct Cowl Induction Hood. At the sides of that hood, a sculpted profile cants optional quarter louvers behind polished door handles, pointed rocker guards and ornate Camaro badging. At the tops of those doors, polished mirrors reflect a crisp greenhouse, which stacks body-matched drip rails on muted wipers and straight stainless. And at the back of the car, textured taillights join polished exhaust tips and a Camaro-branded decklid to frame a fourth "SS" emblem and a second polished bumper that's optioned with correct guards.

EXCLUSIVE POWER

If you know bowtie history, you know that only 4,889 of all 206,837 1969 Camaros were gifted with Chevrolet's lethal L78 396. These cars were the true performers of the Camaro world, often screaming up dragstrips and beating their way through daily stoplight squabbles. That said, living a fast life often foreshadows a fast demise... unless you're talking about this fully documented beast! Pop the sculpted hood and you'll find numbers-matching, big block power that's been certified as original to the car by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish. Oxygen and fuel enter the big mill's combustion chambers through a painted air cleaner, stainless fluid lines and a correct LIST 4346 Holley. Below that carb, a sea of brilliant Chevy Orange paint covers the block from its correct Winters intake all the way to its stamped steel oil pan. At the back of that intake, a reliable points distributor shoots spark through eight Packard TV R Suppression cables. Below those wires, correct iron heads center polished valve covers on restored exhaust manifolds. In front of those tubes, tight belts spin a rebuilt alternator between correct power steering and a factory smog pump. At the front of that pump, a Delco-topped battery complements a factory radiator that's cinched to pliable GM hoses via tight tower clamps. Those components are, in traditional fashion, seated in a slick, Satin Black frame. And that pigment is dotted with world class detailing, like a correct brake booster and correct emissions equipment.

AS IT WERE

Under this impressive F-Body you'll find a fully sorted chassis that, like the car's glossy exterior and lust worthy engine, has been restored to very high standards. The aforementioned big block spins a tough Muncie M22 'Rock Crusher' 4-speed which in-turn twists a requisite 12-bolt axle that, also verified original by Jerry MacNeish, is finished with a correct posi-traction differential and correct 3.73 gears. That stellar drivetrain pushes a correct F41 Sport Suspension, which compliments correct power steering with correct power front disc and rear drum brakes. Aluminized exhaust crawls through a correct transverse muffler. And power meets the pavement through correct Fathom Green steelies, which twist F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas Custom Wide Treads around classy 'dog dish' hubcaps.

DELUXE DIGS

The Deluxe Black Interior hiding behind this Camaro's Fathom Green doors is a correct factory affair that, over 50 years after its debut, is still both stylish and cool! Tall bucket seats ride fade-free carpet that's fashioned around a polished Hurst shifter. In front of that stick, a wood-trimmed dash hangs stainless-trimmed foot pedals below rebuilt factory telemetry and a Delco AM radio. That seat, dash and console trifecta is cased in a tight headliner and original Deluxe side panels. The driver spins a factory Super Sport steering wheel. And behind the passengers, an optional fold-down rear seat provides access to the car's trunk.

So, there you have it: a rare, fully-documented piece of Chevrolet history that's been authenticated by the best in the business. Call, click or visit https://www.RKMotors.com for more information on this choice Camaro Super Sport!
