For Sale: 1970 Chevrolet El Camino in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This is one slick car. Fit and finish is impressive. It runs, rides and functions really well too. Very desirable features-SS, big block 4-speed with cowl induction, factory gauges and more!

EXTERIOR: We all know a black car has to be straight to look good, well this one looks awesome! From the roof down to the rockers it is straight as an arrow. The paint is like a mirror you can read the dictionary in the reflection. The stripes are painted on smooth to the touch. It has a cowl induction hood with working flapper and racing pins. It looks like all of the exterior trim has been replaced- emblems, grills, bezels, door handles, mirrors, stainless moldings etc. It has 15x8 Corvette rally wheels with new trim and Goodyear tires. The door jambs are real clean. Under the doors are dry, paint is slick, weatherstrips and sill plates have been replaced.

INTERIOR: It's restored very nicely to stock condition. Down on the floor it has new carpet, correct shifter boot and bezel with a Hurst 4-speed and a cue ball knob. In front of me is an all new instrument panel with shiny chrome trim, heater controls, dash pad, vents, knobs and SS gauges with a tachometer. It also has a retro stereo and I noticed boxed 6x9 speakers behind the seat. Nee deluxe wheel on a tilt column. The door panels, armrests ,window cranks and handles are new. The headliner and visors were replaced, dome light works.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's beautiful under the hood, everything looks fresh. The engine bay is all smooth metal painted just as slick as the outside. It has a very desirable 396-350 hp motor. According to the casting numbers, date and CTX stamped code it is a 1970 motor that was mated to a 4-speed. It says hI perf on the block too. Upgraded Edelbrock aluminum intake, a dual feed Holley carb, Hedman headers and an HEI ignition system. In front the power steering pump looks new, the alternator and bracket are chromed. The power brake booster is cadmium plated, wiper motor and horns look new. It has a functional cowl induction system.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed looks solid and it has been sprayed with bedliner which makes it very usable. The tailgate functions nice, new cables and it's clean underneath.

UNDERSIDE: It really looks exceptionally clean under this car. The bottom of the motor is spotless- the fuel pump and starter looks new. It has a Borg Warner 4-speed and in back it has a correct 12-bolt rear end with 3.31 gears and a polished aluminum cover. The front end components look good. In back it's upgraded with Chassis Works control arms, airbags in the springs and air shocks. The fuel tank, straps and sending unit have been replaced. It has a real nice custom all stainless exhaust with fat pypes, x pipe and MagnaFlow mufflers. It has disc brakes up front, the e-brake assembly is hooked up. The metal has been restored, it's all smooth and clean. The floorboards are painted satin black.

This is one that became more impressive as we looked closer. The guys in the shop were talking about it being a good one and how it sounds so good. The colors and options are very desirable.
