1979 Volkswagen
Car History
We have a vintage 1979 Volkswagen Beetle convertible here at
Adventure Classics that you will want to not only collect, but have
fun driving with the top down too!
It has all the right features to make you want to do both with its
4-cylinder and four speed and the nice convertible top.
The 1979 convertible Bug was the final year for that collectable
Volkswagen and it looks great from all angles with its pretty blue
paint, red accented brakes, and aggression, and the eight-spoke
polished alloy wheels.
Engine & Drivetrain
VW's standard 1600 cc flat-four was the only engine available, but
while the last few years came with fuel injection, this one has
been replaced by a performance carburetor. In the Beetle world this
is a welcomed change because it makes the engine more reliable,
easier to service, and opens the door wider to the vast catalog of
VW cheap-n-easy parts available to you.
Our engine is mated to a tried-and-true four-speed manual
transmission which gets the most performance and fun driving out of
the engine.
It has great steering box, big brakes, strut front end suspension,
chrome open element air cleaner, and a very clean and tidy engine
compartment.
Interior
The inside features a clean tan interior upgraded to a leather look
with high-back bucket seats and headrests that came on the later
models are particularly comfortable for all-day cruising.
Another nice feature is a newer AM/FM/CD stereo radio and speakers
under the dash, factory steering wheel and dash with all the
factory gauges and wood grain trim, carpet and floormats.
The interior of this VW has a simple and sturdy feeling that comes
from decades of building these VWs correctly.
Exterior
The exterior is painted in a very pleasing shade of light blue
paint with plenty of shine to highlight all the factory curves of
the Beetle body. The tan manual Convertible Top is made from long
lasting StayFast material and it has a convertible boot and car
cover, and it has an overall aggressive look with the eight-spoke
alloy wheels.
Conclusion
VW Beetle ownership is a great experience that ranges and a
lifestyle that includes social camaraderie and many available
clubs. Our vintage 1979 Volkswagen Beetle convertible we have here
at Adventure Classics will be a great addition to your
collection.
