For sale at the St. Louis Car Museum is an outstandingly executed
1940 Deluxe Tudor Sedan with all the right amenities! A beautiful
classic with perfect performance from a High Output GM 350 V8,
700R4 overdrive transmission, air conditioning, power disc brakes,
power rack & pinion steering, leather interior, and much more!
Gorgeous paint that really ignites in the sunlight. A lot of bang
for the buck with this proven street cruiser!
This beautifully restored 1940 Ford Tudor Sedan Street Rod is
finished in Emerald Green Metallic over combination Gray Leather &
Cloth interior! It is accented nicely with professionally executed
green & tan pinstriping, while maintaining all the traditional Ford
chrome bumpers, Deluxe V8 emblems, hood & body side moldings, door
handles, and dual outside mirrors. It also retains a factory
original steel body, fenders, and running boards. Under the hood
lies a beautifully tuned GM Performance 350 HO crate engine fitted
with aluminum heads, aluminum dual plane intake, 600cfm carburetor,
9.8:1 pistons, forged crank & rods, and hydraulic camshaft to
produce a factory rated 345 horsepower and 370 lb. ft. of
torque.
This all mates to a 700R4 automatic transmission and a Ford 9" rear
end fitted with a 3.00:1 highway gear ratio. Additional features
include ceramic-coated headers, true dual exhaust with Flowmaster
mufflers, Pertonix FlameThrower billet distributer & ignition
system, 7mm plug wires, high performance aluminum radiator with
overflow reservoir, electric cooling fan & 6-blade fan, and
auxiliary transmission cooler. Finishing off the under hood
presentation are matching billet aluminum valve covers & air
cleaner, polished aluminum locking hood hinge, billet pulleys,
chrome alternator, and Lokar brained stainless engine &
transmission dipsticks!
Inside you will find a perfectly laid out cabin for long,
comfortable drives! The bench style seat offers plenty of back
support along with a fold down armrest. Legroom is ample even for
taller drivers and the seatbacks recline backward allowing for
further adjustment. Other features that spoil the enthusiast behind
the wheel are the modern air conditioning system integrated under
the factory dash, power windows, functional cowl vent, billet
aluminum knobs & shifter accessories, complete instrumentation with
machine-turned dash surround, floor courtesy light, IDIDIT tilt
steering column, original 2-spoke steering wheel, glove box clock,
and plenty of storage space in the beautifully finished trunk
compartment!
The suspension is composed of an independent front end with power
front disc brakes, power rack & pinion steering, front & rear
stabilizer bars, and classic steel wheels wrapped in staggered BF
Goodrich Radial T/A tires appointed perfectly with chrome trim
rings & proper Ford Deluxe hubcaps! Keeping with the traditional
custom build without any chopping or shaving of the body, the frame
itself was also left largely unmodified and simply painted black
for a very sharp presentation and makes for a very usable driver!
Additional safety items include front & rear lap belts, electric
wipers, dual master brake cylinder, battery cut off switch, turn
signals, and tinted glass.
Everything on the car is working exactly as it should including ice
cold air conditioning. Recent servicing included a new brake master
cylinder, front tie rods, rebuilt carburetor with fresh accelerator
pump, return spring, and metering rods; freshly cleaned & oiled
reusable K&N air cleaner, new distributor cap & rotor, with
final tune and timing adjustment. Since completion of this custom
build, the odometer shows it has traveled a proven 8,221 miles,
that continues to impress today! Note: this car is titled with an
Arizona assigned VIN number. For more information about the 1940
