1957 Cadillac Series 62
Car History
The 1957 Cadillac Series 62 we have here at Adventure Classics is a
restored classic that has everything you expect from a 50s Cadillac
from the big engine to the plush Cadillac leather interior.
Engine & Drivetrain
The engine bay will amaze you as it looks just like it did when it
was built at the Cadillac factory.
The engine compartment has been painted and detailed everywhere
from the inner fenders to the engine block.
It has Cadillac's 365 cubic inch V8 engine rated at 325 horsepower
with the 4-barrell carburetor, Power steering and Power brakes, air
conditioning, factory blue painted valve covers, block, and intake,
with the black factory air cleaner, the factory cast iron exhaust
headers feeding the dual exhaust.
The photos prove how detailed the build is and how fresh it still
looks but a car like this was made for driving too.
Interior
The interior continues the pale blue theme matching the exterior
paint scheme with the original dash looking like the Jet-age
styling that Cadillac was promoting with all the gauges on the
instrument panel, factory steering wheel, two wide cloth bench
seats provide better comfort than a pillow-top mattress, and the
legroom is expansive front and rear.
It has matching door panels, carpeting, floor mats, and classic
bright trim and a huge matching back seat give it the classic
Cadillac luxury feeling.
Exterior
Cadillacs of this era are a true exercise in style from the iconic
tailfins to the gas cap hidden behind a flip-up taillight, this
Cadillac exudes style and the Bahama Blue paint job has the right
pastel-like tone for a 1950s machine.
That great paint flows over the hood around the outstretched
bumpers and pillarless hardtop profile to the tailfins over the
rear trim line, until it merges with the rear lights. Then the
exhaust is integrated into the rear bumper.
It rides on fat whitewall tires and Cadillac factory wheels and
hubcaps give it the true look it had back in 1962.
Conclusion
Cadillacs were truly the envy of the elite when this 1957 Series 62
sedan we have here at Adventure Classics was built. Luxury, style,
and that huge for the day V8 engine was top-of-the-line then and
still carry a legendary reputation today among collectors.
