1962 Roman Red Corvette
Car History
We have a 1962 Corvette convertible here at Adventure Classics with
a Roman Red on paint and tan convertible top and interior with a
restoration that looks just as good today as it did in 1962, or
even better.
Engine & Drivetrain
Our 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is powered by the famous
327 cubic inch V8 small block Chevrolet engine that were all
powerful and reliable with their precision balanced assembly.
Ours has the 250 horsepower Corvette V8 and features a 4-barrel
carburetor, modified intake manifold, large intake valves, large
exhaust manifolds, 10.5:1 compression ratio, full dual exhaust,
aluminum air cleaner, and finned aluminum rocker covers, and is
backed by a 4-Speed transmission with the floor mounted shifter,
putting the power to the ground via the posi-traction rear end.
Interior
The inside of our Vette shows well with the rally-inspired tan
vinyl buckets that are recessed into the cockpit with matching tan
carpet and door panels, safety belts, long padded armrests on each
door, crank-operated windows, passenger assist bar in instrument
panel cover with stowage bin below, and much more.
It has the stock tan Corvette steering wheel and has a complement
of factory gauges in the instrument cluster as well as all the
correct trim, floor mats, clock, radio, and instruction tags that
came from the dealer too.
Exterior
Our 1962 has the gorgeous Roman Red exterior over that tan Interior
and convertible top with only a total of 14,351 Corvettes built
that year, all of them convertibles.
The '62 closed out its generation and had a host of styling
refinements such as its compact grille sitting in between a pair of
smaller grilles, great chrome bumpers, twin dual headlights, iconic
side coves, and great trim, badging, chrome up top ads well as a
painted and restored chassis too.
It rides on thin white sidewall tires with the correct factory
vented chrome wheel covers with simulated knockoff hubs.
Conclusion
The 1962 Corvette convertible we have here at Adventure Classics
has been lovingly redone and looks like a million dollars with its
Roman Red on tan color scheme and tan convertible top.
The 1960's produced its share of memorable cars, few also offer the
confidence-inspiring road-readiness and the beauty of this 1962
Chevrolet Corvette.
