spring and summer days? We might have just the ticket in this 2001
Audi TT 225HP Quattro Roadster with a six-speed manual
transmission. This example was made in November 2000 in Gy?r,
Hungary at an Audi subsidiary factory. Dressed in Lake Silver
Metallic, this car?s paint and trim are in very good order overall,
the body is straight and solid and the engine bay is tidy but the
paint does have some imperfections. The black, power fold-down
canvas roof is in very good order. This TT rolls on Continental
ExtremeContact radials, size 245/45ZR17 at all four corners. Each
tire is mounted on original alloy wheels. Wheels and tires are all
in satisfactory order. Its body-colored bumpers fit tightly to the
body. A 225HP 1.8L DOHC, 20-valve turbocharged four-cylinder engine
is the motivator in this car. It has multipoint sequential fuel
injection, a K04 turbocharger and dual intercoolers. Backing up
this motor is a six-speed manual transmission and for added
traction there?s a full-time Haldex all-wheel drive setup. Driver
convenience features include electronic climate control, cruise
control, power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, power
mirrors, power locks, stability control, tilt and telescopic
steering column, fog lights, rear window defroster and intermittent
wipers. Safety equipment includes driver and passenger front
airbags, side airbags, anti-lock brakes and stability control.
Inside, the car is swathed in Ebony leather. The bucket seats are
in good shape but show some signs of use after 20 years and the
matching carpet looks good but the drivers seat adjustment lever is
inoperable. A leather-wrapped, three-spoke steering wheel faces the
driver. The black instrument panel and inner door panels are in
fine form, as is the center console and floor-mounted shift lever
with a leather shift knob. The ABS warning light is illuminated on
the dash. A factory AM/FM stereo with cassette deck completes the
interior. The Audi TT takes its name from the successful motor
racing tradition of NSU in the British Isle of Man TT (Tourist
Trophy) motorcycle race. The TT name has also been attributed to
the phrase ?Technology and Tradition.? Competition to this Audi in
2001 included Alfa Romeo?s Spider, BMW?s Z3, Honda?s S2000, Mazda?s
Miata, Mercedes-Benz?s SLK 320, Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT and
Porsche?s Boxster. If you?re looking to pick up a modern runabout
that has the ability to drop its top when the weather is warm and
sunny, this Audi can be that car. Stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars
