Take a close look at this clean El Camino Conquista, it's a V8
powered, one family owned, vintage Chevrolet. Is it a car? Is it a
truck? GM's Heritage Center has categorized the El Camino as a
Chevrolet Truck within their archives. Guess we now know that we
should call it a truck, or how about a ute like the Aussies?
Whatever you decide to call it, this El Camino Conquista is far
out! The Conquista option package offered a few extra interior
options, as well as special exterior finishes. This car offers
Beige and Dark Brown Metallic paint that is separated by what GM
calls the bright paint break molding which was one of the options
that is part of the Conquista option package. The stylized
'Conquista' decal on the tailgate is the final piece in the special
Conquista package. The exterior of this El Camino is in very good,
solid condition. There are a few small spots on the paint that have
been touched up, but fortunately the paint remains even and glossy
throughout. The bumpers are in great condition, including the
vertical rubber trim on the bumperettes. Metal trim around all
sides of the car is in very nice condition as well as the
lights/lenses. Matching the exterior of the car is the brown cloth
interior, or more specifically Camel as it was dubbed by GM. The
interior is in very nice condition and features a tilt steering
wheel, split folding bench seat, and AM/FM/Cassette radio. The
bench seat is a main focal point since the interior of the car is
so simple. The seat is in great condition, as is the carpeting, and
even the headliner. Under the hood is a 305ci V8, which was one of
the two V8 optional engines which replaced the standard 3.8L V6. An
automatic transmission is mated to the 305 V8, and interestingly GM
only offered the V8's if an automatic transmission was ordered, as
well as power steering. Along with power steering, this El Camino
has a 4BBL carburetor, factory A/C, and power brakes (disc front).
Fifteen inch wheels wear multi-spoke wheel covers, and are wrapped
in white stripe tires. Power brakes can be found on all four
corners of the car, with the fronts being disc brakes. This car is
far out thanks to the vintage looks, V8 under the hood, and one
color family color scheme. Speaking of families, the car was taken
care of by one family since new and it's condition shows that they
took very good care of the car. Be sure to check out all the photos
