West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional
and very desirable original lady owner from 1960 (until we recently
acquired it) 1960 Buick Invicta 4 Door 'Flat Top' Hardtop 401/325HP
V8 with reportedly and believed to be only some 23K original miles
on it's original 401/325 V8 engine matched to its original Turbine
Drive Automatic transmission with it's original 'Blue Berkshire
Cloth' interior and loaded with power steering, power brakes,
'Sonomatic' AM radio, with full carpeting, front amp; rear
armrests, deluxe steering wheel, padded instrument panel, electric
clock, heater amp; defroster, automatic trunk light, deluxe wheel
covers, in great daily driving condition and with no signs of any
major accidents and no rust! This is a beautiful 1960 Buick Invicta
4 door sedan with it's original 401 c.i. 4 barrel 325HP V8 engine
with dual exhausts! This car was one rare blend of size and
performance before the muscle car era! The Buick Invicta was
arguably Buick's first performance car and began Buick's quest for
power and culminated in the Wildcat (officially named the Wildcat
Sport Coupe) which was part of the Invicta line but included front
bucket seats, a console, tachometer, and a rear floor lamp. It's
body style was classy and attractive. GM's cars were the first to
reflect the influence of Bill Mitchell, Harley Earl's successor as
corporate design chief and Mitchell made sure the line lost dogleg
windshields and needless bulk to become simpler and more dignified
if still visually massive! Standard power was the Buick LT401 cid
V8 with a high-performance 325 hp (242 kW) 401 cu in Nailhead V8.
The transmission was the famous dynaflow shared by all full-size
Buicks and the Invicta's trio of portholes on the front fenders,
the traditional 1950's Buick trademark returning as Ventiports, a
squarish version of the porthole, and was a design cue lasting only
through the 1963 model year. The 401 cu in (6.6 L) 401 was Buick's
muscle car powerplant of choice, and was later found in the
company's Skylark Gran Sport and Buick Wildcat, among others. This
particular 1960 Buick Invicta 4 Door Hardtop example is in very
fine condition throughout with no signs of any rust - reportedly
and obviously an always garaged car by it's one and only lady owner
until 2020. The car looks extremely impressive with a beautiful
repaint in 'White' with a matching the interior 'Blue' Hardtop from
it's original 'Silver Mist' color. The original 'Blue' cloth
interior is all original and virtually flawless considering and
boasting rare optional tissue dispenser and which is all in
exceptional condition throughout! The car was sitting for some years
and recently was recommissioned prior to sale with over $4K spent
on all new brakes, a rebuilt carburetor, new radiator, gas tank,
all soft lines amp; hoses, new wide Whitewall tires, transmission
service, etc. The original matching #'s 401 c.i. 4 barrel V8 engine
is extremely strong and powerful and sounds absolutely magnificent
and this particular car drives magnificently - must be driven to be
believed - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives
straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or
rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern
day sports car a run for it's money! The transmission shifts
smoothly through the gears and the car has four good tires and the
car has it's original spare wheel and jack are still in the
trunk! This is a rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and
never abused example of a 1960 Buick Invicta 401/325HP V8 4 Door
Hardtop in very fine condition throughout and a highly coveted
Buick amongst classic car collectors and obviously any Buick
enthusiast! Simply a great daily driving and turn-key ready example
of one of Buick's finest year models for any classic American
muscle car collector!
