What started out as a quest to build a classic tow truck for a classic show truck soon produced "La Marguerita!" Featured in the May, 2018 edition of Lowrider Magazine, this truck is worthy of the accolades and awards it continually receives. One of the top awards bestowed on La Margarita is 2nd in Show at the 2012 Las Vegas Lowrider SuperShow.
The truck presented at auction was subject to a complete rebuild to a very high standard. The build included a wrapped frame with Mustang II Front end, shortened Ford 10-Bolt rear axle, tubular A-arms and Firestone Airbags. The front disc brakes are aided by the drum brakes on the rear axle. The 14-inch center gold Galaxy Wire Wheels sit on 175/R14 tires.
The drivetrain includes a 350 Crate Engine with electric fan, Summit Racing weather pump/intake/air cleaner/polished aluminum radiator, Demon 4bbl carburetor, MSD wires, Dynomax mufflers and March Performance double serpentine kit. The transmission is a TH400 for smooth driving performance.
The beautiful lines on this truck are accentuated by the Matrix Lime Green Pearl paint and the custom pinstriping. The quality of the build is again evident in the long straight body panels low, high, left and right. Electric Door Poppers provide access to the custom interior featuring three rows of modern seats upholstered to match the truck. The wood grain dash and Billet Specialties steering wheel complete the stunning interior. Sound is provided by a Panasonic head unit with MTX amd with Hertz 6x9 speakers and Pioneer 10-inch subwoofers.
The truck has been driven 2072 miles since completion and is a serious head turner cruising down the road or source of a traffic-jam at car shows for spectators hoping to catch a glimpse of La Margarita.
This car has been consigned to the 6th Annual Salt Lake City Classic Car Auction featuring 150 Classic and Collector cars selling across the auction block! The Auction is Saturday, May 1 at Thanksgiving Point Electric Park, Lehi, UT.
