For sale now is a perfect example of a 100% all original rare automobile and a piece of Pontiac muscle car history. It is 1 of 1,817 that had the L78 6.6L 400ci 4BBL V8 (see window sticker photo $90 option paid for L78) and the Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed manual. All other Special Edition TA’s had automatic transmissions for the 7,500 produced. This beauty now on sale has only 17,806 miles which makes it highly desirable and is documented with the original Window Sticker detailing options and original MSRP. In 1979, Pontiac released a limited build of the 10th Anniversary Trans Ams to commemorate the first Trans Am that rolled off the assembly line in 1969. Pontiac had created a truly special edition with a two-tone paint scheme of silver and charcoal colors accented by a red, silver, and charcoal stripe that outlined the body. It was further enhanced by a special five-color hood bird that was so large its wingtips extended over the hood and onto the tops of the fenders. There are also 10th Anniversary badges displayed on the front fenders and rear deck lid. Matte black window trim, blacked-out taillights, and signature dual exhausts give this Trans Am an aggressive look. Finishing off the exterior were mirrored T-tops unique to the Anniversary Edition. The silver color motif was also carried throughout the car's interior. Silver leather covers the stylish front and rear seats. Color embroidered birds adorn the door panels and rear seat. The steering wheel grip and horn button are also finished in silver. A thick 70’s shag-type carpet with additional sound deadeners covers the floor. These 10th Anniversary edition cars also come equipped with all the available power options of the time such as power windows, power brakes, air conditioning, and tilt-wheel. All 10th Anniversary Trans Ams sport the WS6 handling suspension option that included 4-wheel disc brakes with 11.1" rotors, and exclusive polished "Turbo" wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich white lettered radials and a 3.23 posi-traction rear end.
