CMC is excited to have this Grand National Award winning 1970 Pontiac GTO L-75 455 H.O. Convertible in our showroom. This numbers matching muscle car has received a frame off restoration and is in outstanding condition. With only 158 Built with this 4SPD drivetrain, you will be hard pressed to find a better one.

This special GTO has won some prestige awards. The car has won an AACA 1st Junior Award in 2016. Then the car won an AACA Senior Award later that year. A few years later, the GTO went on to win the coveted AACA First Grand National Award in 2018.

The previous owner purchased car from a private collection in Hickory NC. The car was an unrestored original and it was sold for $67,000. After it was purchased, the owner did a no expense spared frame off restoration starting in 2014. The chassis was powder coated and all new lines, hose, brakes were installed. The chassis built to factory specs. While that was getting completed, the body was restored back to original in the factory color code Burgundy. The body panel fitment and front bumper is superb. The end result is a Grand National Show winning muscle car that runs and drives as good as it looks.

The number matching 455 HO engine was rebuilt to original specs. The engine is the Code WA block and last digits of the vin number are on the block. The motor is totally correct with the original one year only 455 HO #64 heads. The special calibrated carburetor is also the original ( Carburetor # 7040267). The distributor is also the original and special for the 455 HO. (distributor # 1112012; Date code 9J23). All parts are very rare 455 HO only parts. The car also has a heavy duty M-21 Transmission, and a heavy duty 12 Bolt Posi traction rear end. The L-75 is the true meaning of a muscle car with it 500 FT/LBS Torque. The car is very powerful and shift through the 4 speed smoothly. The car breaths through the concourse Garner dual exhaust system. The L-75 has a great sound out the exhaust that will make you want to drive it more.
