1975 MERCEDES BENZ 450SL. THIS CAR HAD BEEN RESTORED 8 YEARS AGO
AND PUT AWAY. I ENDED UP BUYING THIS CAR FROM A FRIEND OF THE
DECEASED FAMILY. THE CAR IS STILL MAGNIFICENT. I CLEANED OUT THE
GAS TANK AND PUT IN A NEW BATTERY AND IT STARTED ON THE FIRST TRY.
I HAVE NOT GONE ANY FURTHER AS IT RUNS BUT WILL NEED A TUNE UP AND
THE TANK CLEANED OUT FURTHER. I DO HAVE A VIDEO OF THE CAR RUNNING.
THE BRAKES ARE GREAT AS THERE ARE NO ISSUE WITH THEM. THE EXHAUST
IS GOOD THERE ARE NO LEAKS. I HAVE DRIVEN IT IN THE LOT AND THE
TRANS SHIFTS SMOOTH. IT DOES NOT SMOKE AND THERE ARE NOT ANY LEAKS
UNDERNEATH. THE PAINT IS EXCELLENT. THIS CAR MUST HAVE BEEN PAINTED
BY A VERY HIGH END SHOP BECAUSE ITS THE BEST PAINT I HAVE SEEN IN
QUITE A WHILE. THERE RE NO BUBBLES,NOT ONE. THERE ARE NO RIPPLES AS
THE SIDES ARE PERFECT. THE SIDES ARE STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW. IF I DID
NOT KNOW IT I WOULD ASSUME IT WAS JUST PAINTED. I CANNOT FIND ANY
SIGNS OF BODY WORK ANYWHERE. I KEEP TRYING TO FIND ANY, AND ITS
JUST NOT THERE. I HAVE INCLUDED CLOSE UP PICTURES SO YOU CAN SEE. I
ALSO HAVE WALK AROUND VIDEOS AS WELL. I DON'T KNOW IF THE BUMPERS
AND DOOR HANDLES WERE REPLACED BUT THEY ARE EXCELLENT AND MAY HAVE
BEEN. THE ONLY THING MISSING IS A SMALL PIECE OF RUBBER BETWEEN THE
FRONT DRIVERS SIDE BUMPERETTE AND THE LICENSE PLATE HOLDER. OTHER
THEN THAT, ITS ALL THERE. ALL OF THE GLASS IS ORIGINAL AND IN NEW
CONDITION. MOST OF THE RUBBER HAS BEEN REPLACED AND SHOWS NO SIGNS
OF CRACKING. THERE IS NOT A DROP OF RUST ON THE INNER WHEEL WELLS
OR ROCKERS, AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS BRAND
NEW. IT APPEARS THAT THE TOP WAS REPLACED AND LOWERED INTO PLACE
AND I HIGHLY DOUBT ITS EVER SEEN DAYLIGHT. THERE IS OF COURSE NO
RIPS OR TEARS AND THE WINDOWS ARE NEAR PERFECT. JUST A COUPLE
CREASES FROM STORAGE. THE HARD IS ALSO EXCELLENT AS YOU CAN SEE IN
THE PHOTO. I WILL OF COURSE PUT IT BACK ON THE CAR FOR TRANSPORT.
THE INTERIOR IS WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE ORIGINAL. IT IS IN EXCELLENT
